“Sorry to disturb you,” Alcide apologized to the girl standing in the doorway. “Miss Lenora Cruz, it is my pleasure to introduce you to Miss Kat Caswell, who will be residing with us for a time. Hilda assured her you would be willing to share your room, as it is has the extra alcove.”
“Of course. Hi there. Please call me Leni like everyone else does – even Alcide here.” By the impish look on her face, I sensed she found the formalities quite humorous.

“We apologize to the young lady for the late-night arrival.” Alcide made an exaggerated bow just to entertain her, causing us all to laugh.
