CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE 1960 had rolled in and January had passed, but Leni and I barely took notice. Although our bodies had acclimated somewhat to the hard labor, we were still tired all the time. It seemed as though all we did was work. Whenever we had a bit of leftover energy, we walked a mile to the road stop for supplies.
