The next morning, he woke up feeling rather calm. He was back with his family. The academies were at his feet. Kill them whenever he pleased.
He got up and took a quick shower. Then he came back and spotted clothes on the bed with some sort of letter.
He went and took the note, then unfolded it and began reading.
‘Morning, sweetheart. After your bath, these are your clothes. Today I’m very happy, you know? We haven’t been at peace for a long time now. But that has changed. You have captured those filthy bastards. Anyway, when you get ready, come downstairs. I have prepared your favorite meal. And yes, it’s vegan. I know you were thinking about it. Now wear your clothes and come downstairs. Love.
Loveness.’
His smile stretched as he folded the paper back. He looked at the clothes. Black trousers and polo black shirt.
“No matter what that woman says. I love Loveness,” he said and began putting on his clothes.
After he finished, he went downstairs and found only the elders at the dining table. The kids were nowhere to be seen.
They exchanged greetings, and he sat down.
Loveness came from the kitchen and locked eyes with her husband.
She sat on the plate she was carrying in front of Trevor.
“Your food, sir,” she said in a rather playful way.
“Thank you, my faithful servant,” Trevor said playfully as well, and dipped his head at her.
He looked down at his plate. It was filled with two sandwiches, two vegan sausages, and a meatball to be added to the sandwich. Loveness pulled the wine in a glass and gave it to Trevor.
Trevor dipped his head and began digging in.
Then, after a while, Trevor spoke.
“I’m going to the cafe today. It has been a while since I went there. Those bastards might think I have stopped going to my cafe. “
“Yeah, you should. And Tandiwe called not too long ago. She was asking if you were sick or something. So she will be happy to see you,” she took a sip from her green tea. “She also said your competitors are getting your customers. So you should definitely go there. “
“Yeah. What the hell is she doing here?” Trevor got up as he saw Egayov and Teresa approaching. “Egayov, why did you have to bring her here? We have kids here, you know? Look what she is wearing.”
She wore yet another transparent dress this time it was blue. The only parts covered were her breasts and her private parts.
“Who is she?” Loveness asked and touched Trevor on the shoulder to calm him down.
“Egayov’s wife,” Trevor said, glaring at her.
“In that case, don’t you think it’s right she stays with her husband? I mean, he can’t be here while she is there. “
“But why can’t Egayov go and run his kingdom? If he is here, then who will run Yarrum?” Sebastian asked.
“Mother has taken over Yarrum. Somehow she has mastered mind-controlling. She turned them against me. And she wanted to kill her,” he looked at his wife, “I was just luck I got there in time. “
“And Trevor, I’m sorry I was only doing what was supposed to be done. At that time, you were my husband’s enemy. That is why I did what I did,” Teresa said, looking down.
“So you told her to do that?” He looked at Egayov, fire burning in his eyes.
“What are you talking about?” Loveness asked.
“Well, she tried to make me think I don’t love you. She said I can’t fell in love,” Trevor spoke.
“But you didn’t believe her, right?” Trevor nodded, looking at Loveness, “and she was only helping her husband. So judging her by that is not cool. Give her a chance,” Loveness said. “And you, tell my husband such nonsense, and you are dead,” she looked at Teresa.
“Trevor, come on. We are now best friends. Don’t you think your sister-in-law deserves a chance?” Egayov said and wrapped his hand around Teresa’s hips.
“Point of correction, he only has one best friend. And that is me,” Sebastian spoke.
“She can stay here, but under one condition,” Trevor spoke.
“What?” Egayov asked.
“She should dress appropriately. Do I make myself clear, woman?” He looked at her.
“Yes,” she responded.
“Nice. Now come and join us for breakfast,” Loveness spoke, her face glowing with excitement.
After a few minutes, Trevor and Sebastian got up from the table. They said bye and went out.
Got into the car and Trevor drove off.
They stayed in silence for about half the drive and then Sebastian spoke.
“Why did you tell them to stop me from coming after you? I know you were trying to protect me, but I don’t need that. You should have allowed me to come. “
“Well, I wasn’t protecting you. As you just said, you are too old for that. I wanted you back because I thought the academy might come back for my family. And if I had allowed you to come after me, then killing both our families would have been a piece of cake. So don’t even think I did it for you. You are too old, Mr. Mature,” Trevor laughed lightly at the memory.
“Damn, that was. Bad. Who would have thought I was attracted to Emma? May her soul rest in peace,” he dipped his head.
“Yeah, she was the best. And I told you, love, at first sight, is overrated. “
Emma was Trevor’s employ way back. And when Sebastian saw her, he instantly became attracted to her. And according to him, he was in love.
Sebastian was not always in love with his wife, Natasha. Actually, he hated her. It was not until she told him she was pregnant with his twins that he began changing his mind about the way he looked at her.
Not even Trevor liked Natasha. You see, Sebastian found Natasha in a bar and it was just a one-night stand. But after that, they went on several dates and the like. But Sebastian never really felt connected to her.
And when he went to study out of the country, then came back after years.
Trevor told him he saw Natasha kissing another man. And when Sebastian went to confront her about it, she told him she was pregnant. Of course, he said he wasn’t the father. But after she reminded him that the night he came back, they did something inappropriate. And after she showed him the test results, he came around.
And ever since that day, he had changed his opinion about her. And after spending many years with her, he fell in love.
Thirty minutes later they arrived at Trevor’s cafe called the mood lift cafe.
He packed at his reserved packing lot and they went out of the car.
“Mr. Mwansa, Mr. Mwamba, how are you both doing? It has been a long time ever since you came to visit us,” Mr. Jamison spoke, smiling from ear to ear.
Mr. Jamison had been working for Trevor as a guard for such a long time.
He was an old man, about seventy-five. Trevor tried to tell him to quit, but the old man insisted that he prefer to be independent.
He was very fat you can’t even know where his neck was, or if he even had one. Light in complexion and gray hair.
“We are good Mr. Jamison. And we have been just busy with personal reasons,” Trevor said, smiling back at him.
“And don’t you think it’s high time you stop coming here? Look at you. You are supposed to be at home enjoying the fruits of your labor. I think me and Trevor need to speak to your children. Those bastards aren’t taking good care of you,” Sebastian said.
“Don’t even retort, Mr. Jamison,” Trevor said as he saw Mr. Jamison open his mouth to retort. “You always try to defend your children, one way or the other. But not today. And Sebastian as a point. We will talk to those ungrateful bastards. They need to take good care of you,” Trevor said, face serious.
“But.. “
“Mr. Jamison, stop it. And this is the end of the discussion,” Trevor said.
“If you say so, my sons,” he dipped his head. Then seconds later looked up at Trevor. “And do those personal reasons have to do with you being bruised?”
“Kind of. “
“Were you in an accident?”
“Oh, no. No, I wasn’t. It was just some issues I had to deal with. Anyway, we will be inside,” Trevor said.
“Alright see you later than,” Mr. Jamison spoke, then Trevor and Sebastian went inside the cafe.
As Trevor opened the door, the doorbell rang and all the people inside whirled to see who just entered.
And they began talking amongst themselves upon seeing Trevor and Sebastian.
“Hello everyone,” Trevor said, looking from one side of the cafe to another.
Then, after a couple of seconds, they replied.
“Mr. Trevor, I didn’t know you were coming. I even called your wife to hear why you haven’t been coming,” a young lady spoke, sounding delighted.
She was tall enough to reach Trevor’s shoulders. Dark in complexion and long black hair.
She wore a short pink dress, with black high-heeled shoes.
“Shall we step into my office?” Trevor asked politely.
“Sure,” the lady said, and they went into the office.
They entered the office, and they all sat. Trevor sat in his chair while Sebastian and the young lady sat opposite him.
The office was very bright. And that might be because of the huge window on the left side of the office.
A long couch was positioned just below the window. Presumably, when Trevor is tired, uses the couch to get some sleep. Overall, it was an exquisite office. And with the remodel they did, it was just perfect compared to last time.
“Yes Tandiwe, how have you been?” Trevor asked, looking at the lady.
“I’m doing great, sir. And how are you both doing?” She looked from Trevor to Sebastian.
“We are fine,” they both replied.
“And how is the business going so far? Hopefully, they are no problems,” Trevor said.
“No sir. Everything is ok. But we need to up our game. Because Mr. Mubanga’s cafe seems to be doing better,” Tandiwe said.
“Dammit. Mubanga’s cafe has been trying to outshine us for a while now. But we can’t let that happen, right Tandiwe?” She nodded, “good. So I will make some phone calls so we can get the finest tea and coffee from the companies. Also, tell your colleagues to keep working hard. And be polite to all customers. Regardless. “
“Yes, sir, I will. I was actually telling, Angelina and Michele the same thing. They haven’t been really supportive and polite. But after our talk, they are behaving really good,” Tandiwe spoke.
“That’s the spirit. Keep the team strong, ok?” She nodded, “that is all. You can go and continue with work,” he began going through the papers at his table. “And can you tell someone to bring tea for us?”
“Why are you speaking for me. Bring me coffee,” Sebastian said.
Tandiwe just smiled and left.
After a few heartbeats, a woman brought tea for Trevor and coffee for Sebastian, then she left.
The sun was slowly making its way towards the west.
They really enjoyed their day. No crazy s**t happening. No one threatening to kill them or their families. Though there were a lot of papers that needed signing. But with Sebastian helping him, all went well.
Sebastian used to work as a banker at the standard chartered bank. But quit afterward. And became a real estate agent.
It was not really a tiresome job, according to him, as compared to banking.
The moon slowly crept its way out. They packed the papers well and left the office.
All the customers had left. The only ones were the ones who just came and took coffee, not staying inside the cafe and drink it.
They said goodnight to the workers and left the cafe.
They told Mr. Jamison to get ready, anytime they will be having a conversation with his children about taking responsibility and not to be jerks.
Then they made their way to the car and drove off.
Hopefully, they wouldn’t find anything stressful at home.
