Not long after, a middle-aged woman came out of the store and posted a notice at the entrance listing items for sale. Lin Xuan raised an eyebrow, figuring out that the owner had guaranteed a friend's loan, and now the creditor was after him.
Seeing this as a good opportunity, he walked into the store. It wasn't a big place, about a hundred square meters, displaying various samples. The owner, noticing Lin Xuan, waved and said, "No business today."
Lin Xuan asked, "What's your plan for selling?"
"What's your surname?"
"I'm surnamed Lin."
"Lin, how about this? I'll take you to the warehouse first to see the inventory, and then we can discuss the price."
"Alright."
Lin Xuan and the owner went to the spacious warehouse. The inventory was significant, and a young man named Ethan was arranging boxes.
"Ethan, bring the inventory list."
Lin Xuan took a look at the list, realizing it was mostly instant noodles, biscuits, bread, and snacks – enough to supply a large supermarket.
As a truck arrived at the warehouse, the owner said, "Lin, let's go back inside to talk."
Once seated, the owner handed Lin Xuan a cigarette and lit one himself. "Brother, by taking over this store, you won't lose. Look at this list – these are supermarkets that order from me. Once you take over, you have a customer base without running around. If not for some personal reasons, I wouldn't sell the company."
Lin Xuan wasn't convinced. "What's the price?"
"The rent for the store and warehouse has just been renewed, including the inventory, it's 2.6 million."
Hearing this, Lin Xuan smirked. The value of the goods in the warehouse couldn't exceed 200,000, and the rent for the store and warehouse couldn't be worth 2.4 million.
Seeing Lin Xuan's expression, the owner awkwardly explained, "Brother, think about those customers. I worked hard to develop them, and they are the most valuable assets."
Shaking his head, Lin Xuan said, "1.5 million, one-time payment. Any higher, forget it."
The owner's expression stiffened. "Brother, your negotiation is hitting a major artery. Can we increase the price a bit?"
Unwilling to compromise, Lin Xuan stood up to leave. "Don't leave. Let's negotiate. Alright, 1.5 million."
This price was already 200,000 higher than he expected.
With the price settled, they proceeded with the paperwork. An hour later, the wholesale store officially changed its name to Lin Xuan.
The previous owner, in a hurry, left as soon as he received the money.
Ethan, looking bewildered, stood in the store, watching the new owner cautiously and asked, "Mr. Lin, what should I do?"
"What's your name? Are you familiar with procurement?"
"Ethan, on the supplier side, I usually participate in the handling of goods. The people on their side know me too." This was the best opportunity to showcase himself, and Ethan enthusiastically recommended himself.
Lin Xuan nodded. "What was your previous salary?"
"Six thousand five hundred per month," Ethan truthfully replied.
"From now on, as long as you can handle my tasks well, your salary can double."
Ethan was stunned for a moment, then excitedly said, "Thank you, boss! Anything you need, just let me know."
Lin Xuan walked to the work desk, picked up a list of suppliers.
"Besides these, I need you to contact some other types of suppliers. Can you do that?"
"No problem, boss. What types are you looking for?" This was as easy as making a few phone calls.
"Fresh meat, alcoholic beverages, seasonings, daily necessities, seafood, fruits and vegetables..."
Ethan quickly took out a notebook and began recording. The more he heard, the more astonished he became. The new
boss was already covering all categories; this was obviously aiming for a large-scale expansion. Ethan was delighted, thinking that he might become a supervisor or something in the future.
He paid close attention, not missing anything.
After finishing the discussion on categories, Lin Xuan continued, "Contact several suppliers for each category. Let them know I'll take as much as they have. After you've contacted them, let me know, and I'll sign contracts with them."
"As much as they have?" Ethan thought he misheard.
"Yes, from today, stop all external sales. Take down my phone number."
Lin Xuan finished explaining everything and realized he was starving. He found a nearby noodle shop, planning to have a good meal.
After a day of busyness, tools, power equipment, and food were initially arranged. Now he needed to prepare the shelter. However, the money he had wasn't enough. Food alone required a significant amount of funds. He needed to make more money quickly.
While eating noodles, Lin Xuan was considering whether to lower the price of the shares. Suddenly, his phone rang.
It was Lin Minghu.
"Hello?"
"Is Xiaoxuan not at the company? I'd like to talk to you." Lin Xuan's face darkened. He didn't need to guess to know that Lin Minghu must be trying to persuade him not to sell the shares.
"If you have something to say, say it on the phone."
Lin Xuan's impatience made Lin Minghu feel strange. How did this usually indecisive nephew suddenly become so assertive? He cleared his throat.
"Xiaoxuan, are you really going to give up the company your parents worked so hard to build? Your previous decision seems a bit impulsive."
Hearing Lin Minghu bring up his parents, Lin Xuan felt a surge of anger.
"How I handle my things is my freedom. Don't interfere."
"Why are you talking to Uncle like this? I'm your elder, advising you is for your future."
"Hmph, if you only want to say these things, then hang up."
"Wait."
