Chapter 4 Christine's visit

1233 Words
They finally got to Greece… they fell asleep on top of each other… she was leaning her head on his shoulder and he was on hers… the flight attendant had to wake them up to tell them they’d landed in Athens, Greece. They rubbed the sleepy out of their eyes, stretched out as much as they could on a plane, and got off the plane. They got a cab to find the ancient temples. “Well now, that we're here which set of parents are, we going to meet first? Yours or mine Antonio?” asked Christine. Looking around her surroundings trying to figure out where they are. “Um to be polite ladies first I don’t want to interrupt such a friendly reunion between mom or dad and daughter,” said Antonio trying to be an amiable gentleman.  “Ok, but I got no idea how to speak Greek and I don’t think you do either how are we going to find their temples?” It stumped Christine how were they going to get there when neither of them knows what anything says! “Well, lucky for me I got a Greek to English dictionary…” smirked Antonio as he showed off the book. “Smart ok let’s go find our parents…” Christine wished she thought of that. About an hour later they finally found Aphrodite’s temple since it’s on a nearby lake near the town they had to get across it to get to it.  “Finally, after 18 years I get to meet my mom well here goes nothing, walks over to her alter, hi mom-it’s Christine-your daughter… it's finally nice to see you,” said Christine happily and a little nervous hoping that other tourists wouldn't think she's crazy talking to a statue. “My, my how have you grown… you got my beauty, but dad’s music and archery skills,” said Aphrodite with a smile on her face “Did you say something, Antonio!?” Christine was in shock that a statue was talking back! “No, that would be your mother talking to you.” smiled Antonio as he nudged her to talk back to her. “Thank you, Antonio, your parents are eager to meet you,” said Aphrodite  “Um-thanks Aphrodite I can’t wait to meet them as well,” said Antonio kind of nervously “It’s nice to finally meet you, mom! I’ve missed you so much how’s dad?” said Christine happily crying tears of joy. “It’s nice to see you too Christine we’ve missed you too! Your dad can’t wait to see you-you got his music abilities, but my voice and beauty but hey it’s what I do,” said Aphrodite proudly. “True but why didn’t you want me?” asked Christine sadly. It was a question she wanted to be answered for so many years... “We wanted you! But we also wanted you to have a normal life and discover us on your own… Zeus wanted you here on Olympus.” Aphrodite was so sad about the story of losing their daughter... “Why not listen to him!? I would of he’s the big guy!” Christine wondered why they left her...  “Yes, he is, but after a while, he understood why we did it,” said Aphrodite sadly “Probably took some convincing…” said Christine also sadly “Yeah, it did. He was begging us to take you back,” said Aphrodite getting sadder and sadder as she told the story more. “Aww, I feel so loved! It was nice talking to you mom, but I want to see dad now.” Relieved that she finally got to see and talk to her. It was a dream come true that she had waited and longed for. “Alright, I’ll tell him you’re on the way his temple is outside of town.” Aphrodite was relieved too, to finally get to see and talk to her daughter after waiting and watching from afar for all these years. “Thanks, mom talk to you soon!” said Christine lovingly “Bye Christine I love you,” said Aphrodite lovingly as well “I love you too mom.” So, Antonio and Christine crossed the lake again to get to Apollo’s temple on the other side of town. “Hey, dad it’s me… Christine-your daughter…” said Christine nervously again “Oh, I’ve missed you, baby girl! My, my mom was right. You have her beauty and from what we heard at the airport her singing voice too,” said Apollo proudly. “Aww thanks, dad, but also think everything else is you… my archery and music skills.” Christine smiled as she was talking to him. “Yeah that’s me how I wish you were home,” said Apollo gloomy. They finally had the reunion they all wanted, but it wasn't quite the same as an in-person reunion. “I do to dad, but I don’t think there’s an easy stairwell to Olympus,” said Christine sadly and sarcastically. “No, there isn’t sad but true.” Apollo wished there was, but that'd make it too easy for all the demigods out there to find their parents. “How do I come home?” asked Christine curiously "By proving yourself as a genuine hero… and that (again) you got to figure out on your own,” said Apollo “It took me 18yrs to figure out I was a goddess how am I supposed to figure that out, dad!?” Christine sighed angrily and wondered how she was going to do that! “Your aunt is the goddess of wisdom I’m sure you’ll figure it out,” said Apollo proudly, as if Christine had known about that already. “Long lost dad says what!? My aunt is Athena which explains a lot… no wonder my friends come to me for advice….” Christine was shocked at her family tree. Who knows what else she'll learn on this trip! “Yeah that would do it well I got to make a sunset it’s kind of what I do.”  “Ok, dad do your thing.” Christine smiled as he was about to leave not holding back her tears of joy and sadness. She blew him a kiss and walked away from the statue. “Bye, Christine we love you.” “Love you too talk to you soon.”  “We better take shelter or get a hotel to stay in for the night we might be here for a while.”  “Yeah, you’re right probably make shelter since it’d be too dark to find the town.” So, Christine and Antonio made a shelter for the night and slept at Apollo’s temple. The next morning, Christine flew back to London and tell her adoptive parents about her trip to Greece and to finish school.  “I know you wanted me to come with you to visit your parents, but I think I should go back home and tell my adoptive parents about all of this and finish school. I was technically on a holiday break which is why I could go in the first place, but now that holiday is over, I should really go back, but I can go back after you visit your parents.”  “Yeah, I completely understand.”
