When I woke up the next morning, I could feel something watching me. I opened my eyes, seeing Gabby sitting right in front of me.
She giggled, "Good morning!"
I lifted my head up, looking around to see if her parents followed her. Before I knew it, I sneezed. My snort going everywhere.
"Eww!" She yelled, standing to her two feet. Once she looked down at herself, she started to laugh again. "You're silly!"
I stood up, shaking my fur before walking about to stretch my legs. Gabby started to follow me around, watching me carefully. "What do wolves do all day?"
I didn't answer. Instead, I ran my side against the tree, feeling an itch. The only thought going through my head was this better not be a tick.
"Daddy is talking to the Alpha. My daddy is a better one, and he's training me to be the first Alpha female!" She laughed, puffing her chest out. "Mommy and that man went to their daughter's room."
She looked around before speaking again. "They had some warriors watch me, but I sneaked away from them again." I looked at her.
I didn't know what to think. Was she actually that good or did the warriors just suck? It best not to worry about it; after all, it wasn't my concern.
"Do you have a family? Like little puppies? A mommy? A daddy?" She asked, her hand petting me. "One of my friends have two mommies."
I shook my head, telling her I didn't have puppies, a mommy, or a daddy.
She looked sad, pouting her lips. Suddenly, she smiled, "Maybe my mommy and daddy will adopt you!" She grabbed my fur, pulling me.
I growled at her, making a huge mistake when four wolves came towards me. Quickly getting away from Gabby, I bared my teeth at them.
One of the wolves quickly came to Gabby's side, pushing her away from me. Since Gabby greeted him and left, I knew these wolves were the warriors that were ment to stay with her.
"Don't hurt her!" Gabby cried, pointing her finger at me. The wolf quickly pushed her away, making her leave my eyesight.
I rolled my eyes at the warriors, who contained me in the area. Most likely because wolves in this area was rare and you wouldn't want to be responsible in killing one.
Their eyes started to blur, and I knew exactly what it meant. They were mind linking. I took my chance, running in between two wolves.
Unluckily, they seemed to realize what was doing and attacked, fearing that I took my natural instincts of attacking. I hadn't realize that I ran the same direction as Gabby disappeared from.
Someone's sharp teeth grabbed hold of my leg throwing me back. I growled at them, anger flooding mug senses. I turned to go the other way, but another wolf snapped at me. The wolf's teeth digging into my muzzle.
I whimpered at the contact, jumping back. I turned another direction, running and body slamming a wolf before he or she could attack.
The other three didn't like the idea and quickly took off after me, bitting at my feet. After a lot of attempts, one of them got a good one in me.
I ended up rolling, my head hitting a tree. I felt myself loose consciousness, and my body slowly started to shift back.
My body ended up shifting all the way back into my human form. I looked up at the sky, seeing a tree branch and its leaves.
Everything slowly started fading black, and the last thing I saw was a women's face over mine, looking confused as she tried to help me.
When I woke up, I was in a room. I sighed, frustrated with myself. Pushing myself to sit up, I felt a sharp pain hit my head and climb down my back.
I looked around the room, wondering how I'm going to get back to my house and all my friends. I knew Coco wouldn't come looking for me till another day or two. I just have to survive till then.
"Ah, Miss, you're awake." A nurse spoke, quickly coming inside. "Oh dear, you should still be lying down."
I stayed silent remembering what Coco said to do if I ever ran into anyone I knew when I was alive: pretend I was someone else or pretend I didn't know them.
"You're probably scared for your life, not knowing anyone." The nurse continued to ramble on and on, moving around the room. She obviously knew the machines better than anyone else.
"I think I feel better," I spoke, needing to get out of here.
The nurse looked up to me, smiling sadly. "Miss?"
"Um... Miss... Um..." I stumbled, making her frown.
"Oh dear, do you remember anything?" She questioned, her eyes getting foggy.
"No, um, I don't. I just know I need to get home." I answered, swinging my legs down to the floor.
Suddenly, I could feel a strong presence. The Alpha was in the building, most likely to meet me. I sighed, worrying about how he will recognized me.
I glanced up when I felt his eyes on me, but I was surprised to see his son, Xavier. I knew he would be Alpha, but I guess I still picture him as he was ten years ago.
All I could see was red, but I stopped myself from making any movements. Destiny was dead, and I don't have any connects to Xavier in my death.
If that was true, how could I still feel the mate bond between us?
His eyes looked at mine, and in the silence, he whispered, "Mate." He took a couple steps towards me with his predatory eyes, making me squirm.
With seeing my movement, he stopped, frowning. He took a deep breath before speaking. "Hello, I'm Alpha Ave, but you can call me Xavier, little one."
I growled at him, my eyes narrowing down. I don't care if I was supposed to pretend that I was someone else or don't have any memories, I have the right to be upset.
He took another deep breath before doing to stand beside my bed, the same side I was sitting on.
"Destiny? Is that really you?"
