"Please till me you aren't going to be late," a voice in my phone whined through. I ended up rolling my eyes before pulling into the parking lot. "Destiny, please. You've been late for the last three months!"
I chuckled into the phone, "I'm literally parking the car as we speak." I turned the engine off, pulling the keys out before leaving the car. "Jazzy, I'll see you in a few."
I ended the call before she could respond. I grabbed my purse before slamming the car door shut. As I walked towards the front door, I dug through my bag looking for my badge to get inside.
I smirked, feeling my finger grasped it. I quickly scan it once I got to the door, entering and quickly climbing the stairs to my floor.
"Finally!" Jazzy quickly left the model she was helping, coming towards me. "You have no idea what happened in the last ten minutes! Disaster!" She huffed, pointing at the dress she created.
The dress was beautiful- just what ever bride would want. My eyes followed the flow of the dress; it was tight at the top before growing loose to the bottom. The little jewels danced alone the neckline, adding a sense of grace to the dress. Without putting any thought into it, I spoke, "What's wrong with it? I love it."
The model glared at me, shaking her head. "Can't you see! It's far to plain and the fabric itches." She huffed, looking between the two of us.
"Deal with the itchiness like you've been doing for the last couple months," I sneered, almost baring my teeth. "Also, it being plain has nothing to do with it not being beautiful. Different people have different taste. I suggest you keep you tramp shut, unless it's for a good reason, or we will have problems."
The model took a deep breath before walking towards the other models who were ready to walk. I could feel Jazzy's nervousness as she waited to for the show to start. Her smile wavered as I turned to look at her.
"You're doing amazing, Jazzy. Go check your other dresses."
She nodded her head, whispering a thanks before she headed towards another model wearing another one of her wedding dresses. She quickly started to talk to the model, making sure everything was ok before they started to laugh.
I turned away from the scene, walking towards my boss. I gave him a smile as he frowned at me.
"Before you say anything, I was on time and I was helping Jazzy." He rolled his eyes, a smile playing on his lips. "Ready and reporting for duty!"
He laughed, throwing his arm over my shoulder and walking me towards the runway. "I need you to introduce the models and dresses. Coco said she had this very important family thing to go to."
I couldn't help but smile, knowing exactly what that family thing was. Like me, Coco was dead, dying when she was fourteen. Every once in a while, we must travel back to the place of our death or even our graves to restore our life. If we don't, we start to disappear- or more like we were going to be taken.
I nodded me head. "I'll be happy to help, and this better be a one time thing. Coco is amazing at her job."
My boss shook his head before leaving me with the mic and headphones. Smiling, I pepped through the curtains, seeing a large crowd sitting in their seats, chatting and waiting for the show.
"Five minutes." Someone's voice went through the headphones. "Five minutes before the show."
I took a deep breath, shaking my arms. I looked down at my outfit, wondering if it was good enough to even be on a runway. I rolled my eyes. "I'm good enough," I whispered softly for myself- just a little reminder to myself without anyone knowing.
I sat my bag down on the table for me and the other workers. Glancing up, I see some models still getting their final touches before they walk.
I see Jazzy walking around, fixing how some dresses come around the models waist and shoulders. Her hands never straying for what her mind wanted, and her mind wanted the dresses to be perfect.
"Destiny, are you ready?"
I pushed the small button in the headphones, smiling as I spoke, "Ready whenever you are."
"Get this show on the road then, Miss Dust."
Taking my finally breath, I walked past the curtains. The light was the first thing I saw before the eyes of the audience stared at me.
"Hello!" I smiled, walking towards them. "I'm Destiny Dust, your hostess for the evening. I welcome and thank you all for coming to see The Dying Flower and the amazing wedding dresses for all four seasons. 'Since any weather is wedding season,' we have six different wedding dress, beautiful to no end, for the sun, the snow, the rain, and the leaves.
"Now, to begin, we shall start with winter!"
After my little speech, or spill of words, I repeated what the voice in my ear said. Basically, I introduced the models and dresses as I was wearing a small black dress. My blond hair in loose curls that looks nothing like what the models have. I was well dress enough to speak, but not to model. Personally, I was fine with that.
Honestly, I never knew how Coco could just stand there. It's quite boring, but once summer was over, all the models quickly went to the back to change into their normal clothes.
"The end has come, ladies and gentlemen. The dresses will be for sale. Please contact The Dying Flower for any questions, and enjoy your day." I smiled, giving a little courtesy before walking off.
A worker was there to take my headset. "Thanks." I gave him a smile before turning to grab my purse.
"You were fantastic!" Jazzy screamed, clapping her hands as I walked towards her.
"I try; I try." I laughed, hooking my arms into hers. A feeling bubbled in my chest. I smiled at it, happy to where I was now. I had friends and a life. "But this a one time thing. That was not for me."
Jazzy only laughed, "Where is Coco anyways?" She looked around the room before sighing, "I hope she isn't sick or anything."
"Don't worry, Coco is in perfect health. She just had some family thing to attend to." I quickly answered, making sure to seem calm and not hint at anything. Coco and I were the only dead people here. "How about we go out for dinner? On me."
Jazzy frown before shaking her head. "Sorry, Destiny. I have a dinner plan with my boyfriend, but I can do tomorrow." Her frown turned into a smile at the thought, and mine did too.
"How about around one? Just so we can get as much work as we can out of the way." I suggested, giving Jazzy a hug before leaving to my car.
"It's a date!" She laughed, heading to a car pulling up. I watched as her boyfriends, quickly pulls the car over and getting out. Jazzy squealed, jumping into his arms.
I couldn't stare any longer, and I got into my car and pulled out through one of the many exits.
