Shannon“You’re pregnant.”
Dr. Franklin started her spiel with lots of filler, and afterward, she provided advice for follow-up and support. I only heard the two words.
In the three days of hellish anticipation since getting the blood test, I resigned myself to the news. Despite that, hearing definitive confirmation of the pregnancy froze me.
“Based on what you told me, I calculate you to be about five weeks along. Now, that’s based on the date of your last period. Once you’re further along we can do a sonogram, and we may revise your due date. It looks like, oh…July fourth.”
