We’re now on a lunch break and I watch as Lia checks out her ring and smiles to herself.
“It’s beautiful,” I tell her, taking her hand and looking at it, feeling like a bad friend for not even complementing it. I’m just so dead inside right now, but I’ll never allow her to see it.
“It is, right? Thank you,” she says, smiling at me, “I’m so happy, Ty and so excited to start my new life with Chris.”
“I’m happy for the both of you, I’m sure he can’t wait either.”
“That’s an understatement. If he had his way, we would have gotten married last night already. Tonight, we’re having dinner at his parent’s house to announce our engagement and he wants us to announce our wedding date as well.”
