An hour later, I’m upstairs in one of the bedrooms I’ve converted into an office. I’m just about finished transcribing my notes from last week’s client sessions when I hear Tommy burst into the house. He’s griping about something as he comes running up the stairs. I back away from the computer to go find out what it is. “Thomas, what’s going on?” I say as he comes to the top of the stairs. He looks at me with a sullen expression. “Madre grounded me!” “I see.” I’m not going to get involved with the why’s of it. “Well then, maybe you ought to think about why that is and make some decisions.” “It’s not my fault she fell down,” he answers, then stomps into his room and slams the door behind him. Who fell down? I hear Monie come in and tell Christie to get her jacket off. Her tone is level
