It’s 10:30 p.m. and we’re back at Rob and Cindy’s. They’ve taken a room at the Marriott tonight and will be back tomorrow to pack for their honeymoon in Hawaii. In the other room, I hear Charles moving around. It’s been a long day, and right now I have a tension headache. As I start for the bathroom to get a Tylenol, I see Monie slip into bed. For a moment I watch her plump her pillow. When she’s done, she looks back at me. “Night.” When she reaches to turn off the lamp on her bedside table I clear my throat, “I know what you’re upset about.” “Not now Alan, I’m tired.
