Rudra: This went on for about a week and the next day, when I went to college, I hear that she’s already in a relationship with some other guy. I didn't get this information from her but I got it from other people. Me: This is where it hurts. Rudra:I couldn’t have reacted in front of my whole group as this would reveal how much I loved her and she would get to know that way. I would be happier if I could tell her first rather than, she getting to know from other people. I had to say something So, I said, that’s way too early and an easy solution to get out of a break-up. To be very frank, it broke my heart to the very core. That day when I got this news, it was the first hour of our class and my mood went so bad. I told my friends I don’t feel like sitting in the class anymore. Let’s go outside, let’s go somewhere or party outside. They were surprised at what happened to this guy and, as we had a valuable friendship, they came with me. We were not allowed to go outside the college until it was lunch, but somehow me and my friends had the courage. I remember we had to cross a wall and we had a very big campus where anyone could find us. Because of the security systems, there was no place where we could hide. The next day, we would have our suspension letters in our hands, but as we say If a boy is your best friend, then he will even take a bullet for you. Me: Absolutely true, I said Rudra: So, we decided to cross the wall, ninety percent of the task was done and we heard the security guy whistling and calling for help in order to catch us. Among our four friends, three people crossed the wall successfully, but one friend found it difficult and we had to literally pull him from the other side and by the time the security guy came, we were outside of campus. Me: One daring stunt pulled very well. Rudra: That day we went out, it was like the wildest party we ever had in our friend’s room. We have pictures of it and those are not good to remember. Me: I understand it very well. Rudra: My friendship with the three friends of mine was so precious that it can’t be described in words. I remember it was the last day to pay the dues for college and we were so lazy that we had waited till the last day so that we would pay it later. On the last day, the money got stuck in my account and I got to know that I would not receive the money. I would get it the other day. It basically meant that I would not be promoted to next semester. So, of course, my reaction was not good as I would miss out and not be promoted and lose everything, but my three friends had their money ready with them. So, I told them you three people go and pay dues and I will pay tomorrow will see if they retain me for the semester or not. The next moment I hear from them is that if we are going to the next semester then we are going together or else we are not. We will not leave any of us behind. Me: That’s actually a friendship worth never forgetting. Rudra: My eyes got slightly wet, I couldn’t believe that they were ready to get demoted but not leave one member of the pack behind and go forward themselves. We had a group hug and after like thirty seconds I heard a guy saying Stop it! This is way too much drama. In order to celebrate the realization of how strong our friendship and our bond was, we celebrated that day. Every day was a celebration but That celebration was something special. After the incident, I didn’t’ really know what to do. Should I go to college or not? Obviously, I couldn’t have skipped my college just because she had a new boyfriend or I couldn’t express my love towards her. I took the decision; we will see what happens in the future. Frankly speaking, after that my college life was very entertaining, very exciting and I can say that life after the incident, College was extremely fun and entertaining and some beautiful moments of friendship I got from those days. Me: Something good definitely happens after something bad has happened. Rudra: The enjoyment we used to have; The fun was simply amazing. She got busy with her new boyfriend. He used to come to pick her up from college and drop her off. I hated that guy from the very first day. Not on a personal note, but in some way or another, I never liked him. Me and Maya were still friends but that spark, that fire which we used to have, didn’t exist anymore between us. She was a common friend in the group, so I couldn’t have completely ignored her as well. Now all my plans and my priorities were not about her I gave the friendship of our boys group more importance because if I hadn’t done that then I would have not made so many memories with them. Me: What stays in the end is only the memories that we make. Rudra: College was about to end and we were all going to get graduated. So, our class organized a farewell party at a resort, In order to celebrate our three marvelous years of college. Everyone gathered and the party was on. Some dancing to music, some getting drunk, some going to the pool. I thought I would enjoy it a little late, as it was way too early to start partying. After lunch, I thought OK, let’s go and join our mates. I was in the pool. My girl got really tipsy and needed help or else it would have worsened and I would never like that, though we didn’t talk much, but still I got out of the pool, placed her hands on my shoulders and took her slowly inside. That day, I took care of her like a baby, Running after her, she didn’t eat, so I got her something to eat, spoon fed her, massaged her head and when she started to feel nice, then made her sit on my bike and I had to be careful if she was OK or not. On the way back home, Maya hugs me and rests her head on my shoulders and sleeps for a while. I started singing for her and I asked her to sing along as she would feel nice and not fall asleep on the bike. This drive was in the night, in the middle of a dense forest and on a bike. The ride was good but it would be even more lovely if she felt well. Me: That’s what good people do. Rudra: In the last years when we were about to leave college, still somewhere in the heart the love and care for her was still alive, I just wished if she could spend some time with me, then she would understand how much I loved her. I found ways to talk to her and even if we talked, she would always say how caring her new boyfriend was, when this went on for a long time. I decided it’s better to distance ourselves or else it will start killing and hurt me more and more. I did hope that one day would be better and I will move on. College was over. Everyone made promises that they would be in touch and all other kinds of stuff that every graduating class does, but I don’t think anyone stays in touch with the other people except the best friends whom they have made in the college. Me: Universal truth. Rudra: This was the same case with me as I had my best friends. I don’t make many friends and those which I have still stay today and probably will forever. I still meet them. We still have that spark, that entertainment, even with each other's families. Graduating, I thought it was the first step to move on, as I will not see her daily and probably, I will not think about her again, because if there is nothing to talk between two people, then the distance is already created, then they hardly remember about the person, but that was not in my case. Deep inside she was my love. I thought, let’s think about the future and see what happens next. Me: The best and widely used Hope quote I’ve ever heard, (I said sarcastically) Rudra: Things went on. I did an MBA and the class was equally fun-loving and entertaining as graduation. There I also made precious friends who are connected even today; the controversies, the entertainment, those skipping classes and sitting in canteen sessions, it was all about having fun each and every day. We have learned from graduation that don’t waste a single day, time never stops and you won’t even realize your college is already over. We knew how much people stay connected when they pass out, so we did not want to waste a single day and be depressed or not enjoy, the most of the two years that we got at MBA. Me: Those times never come back. Rudra: Things were going very smoothly and life was simply awesome, but when I was in the second year of my MBA, I met with a serious accident and it was so serious that, by the margin of one hour, I got another life or else I would be dead. It still gives me goosebumps thinking about the accident, but cut the story short about the accident because I don’t want to remember all of it again, All my friends came to visit me in the hospital but she didn’t come. I expected she would come but she sent a message. That was a good message, but I think her presence would have made more impact than sending a message. Nobody is so busy. It’s all about the priorities people make. If you really love someone or care for someone, then even though you’re very busy you will still take out time for that person. It’s just a matter of priorities. Me: Very Well said. Yes, it’s all about priorities. Rudra: I recovered and got back to college, got a very grand welcome from my friends and life was again back on track. One day, we were sitting outside the college because the teacher was so boring and we didn’t feel like attending class so we had free time.
