  I stood there, breathless, confused as my lips tingle and the heat unlike any other burns within me. My heart is hammering against my ribs.   What just happened?   How did that just happen?   I lowered my head, feeling utterly lost as I muttered a pathetic apology, seeing the look of absolute disgust on his face— right after he kissed me no less, before walking away. I tried to hide the look of disappointment and keep it locked within my heart.   Like a cornered animal, I ran back to the kitchen.
