Chapter 11

He gathered the whole family and took them to a place that rented airships. "F-Father," Kahil stuttered. "Yeah," said Caroline. "This is a bit too much." In front of them was a large golden ship. Normally, the airships were red, but the king bought the most expensive one he could get. "I rented this for the evening," he said. "Surprise!" "Surprise indeed," Caroline sighed. "You told me you planned a little something." The boat's ramp came down and the children were the first to board. The king stepped up on it and extended his hand to his wife. "This is little," he replied. "I could only rent it for half a day." Caroline gave him a concerned look before taking his hand. Once they were all on, the ship slowly started to rise off of the ground. As the ship rose higher above the buildings, a truly magnificent scene was revealed. Towards the west of the sky was the setting sun. As it set, the sky had a mix of orange, pink, and purple. Harry smiled the happiest smile. "Wow!" she gasped while running up to the edge of the ship. "It's so beautiful!" Her royal siblings both stared at the scene nonchalantly. "You were right, Caroline," said the king hesitantly. Caroline nudged him in the side. "See? Simple things." After giving a chuckle in response, he made his way over to Harry. "Harry," he called softly. She turned to him, still with stars in her eyes. "Your Majesty," she called back. "Your Majesty, it's wonderful!" The king sighed with relief. "I'm glad you like it," he replied. "Yes!" Harry happily exclaimed. The king leaned against the port. "Listen," he said in a sudden serious manner. "After this trip, I won't bother you anymore." Harry quickly protested, "No, that's-" "I know," he continued. "Your mother told me a while ago." Harry no longer knew what to say. She felt guilty even if she didn't need to. She expected him to feel upset but was instead surprised by his words. "I'm no longer going to force you to like me. I'll wait for you to come to me. You don't have to now or even in the next few days. Just do it in your own time when you feel comfortable." When he finished, all she could do was nod. "But you must accept the gift I have coming for you," he added. Without another word, they both turned to gaze upon the sunset. For a while, there was silence all over the ship. Harry had silently been trying to summon the courage to tell the king what she had been wanting to say for a long time, and finally was able to say it. "I'm sorry." "What for?" asked the king. Harry shook her head and answered, "There's no particular reason, I just felt like saying it." "I see," replied the king stoically. After the airship ride, the never-ending visits from the king stopped much to Harry's great relief.
