Chapter 15

479 Words
Harry was bewildered for the first time, someone of high status wanted her to call them by their name, and not by their title. She called him timidly, "Varian, it's okay to call you by your name?" She was surprised when he suddenly patted her head. "Yes," he answered. "I already told you to do so." He took a couple of steps away from her, but this time, he walked at a slower pace so that Harry could easily catch up to him. "Me too," she said. "I want you to call me by my name too!" Despite asking him that, she had a strong feeling that he would instantly decline; it was what everyone else did when she offered. "Harry." The moment she heard her name, she became very happy, and grateful. "Thank you, Varian," she said happily. ••• A few days later, Miss Albet also had a surprise for Harry. "So, what do you say?" she asked. "Is that alright?" Harry answered anxiously. "I mean that's so sudden, do you . . . do you really think I'm ready for such an event?" Miss Albet pushed a fresh cup of tea towards her and smiled, "Of course, Princess, it's just a simple tea party." Harry looked down at her reflection through the tea. "Simple, you say," she replied a bit saddened. Miss Albet then took a cookie out of a luxurious basket. "Princess," she spoke softly. "You've been learning etiquette nonstop for days, it's safe to say you are ready to attend a tea party." Harry took a cookie from the basket and nibbled on it. "Besides you won't be alone," spoke Miss Albet. "I won't?" Harry asked. "Yes," answered Miss Albet cheerfully. "Princess Kaitlyn will also be attending the party." She lost her grip on the cookie she had been eating, it fell to the floor and crumbled into multiple pieces. "The first princess?" she asked shaken. Miss Albet was shocked by Harry's sudden state. She began to think that maybe the two princesses were on bad terms with each other. "Princess," she called. "Do you perhaps not like the first princess?" "It's not that," Harry answered as she took a handkerchief and picked up the cookie crumbs off the floor. "I just don't think that Her Highness likes me very much . . . is all." She held the handkerchief tightly in her lap. Miss Albet sighed heavily at the conflict the two girls already had. "Princess Harry, I'm sure that's not the case," she said calmly. "You don't?" asked Harry. The woman shook her head. "I don't, Princess Kaitlyn doesn't know you well enough yet, but once she does, I'm sure, the two of you will become inseparable." "Really?" Harry asked. "Yes," Miss Albet answered. Harry began to gain both confidence and help from Miss Albet, but that was all quickly shattered.
