Lena stood before the lighthouse, her heart racing as the man with the deep brown eyes smiled at her. The wind swirled around them, carrying the memory of every letter they had exchanged. “I hoped it was you,” he said, his voice gentle yet certain. She felt the weight of their unspoken words, the months of longing and wondering. “I hoped it was you, too,” she whispered. He reached into his coat and pulled out a small envelope, the edges slightly crumpled from being carried so often. “One last letter,” he said, holding it out. Lena hesitated, then took it, her fingers brushing his. She unfolded the paper carefully. *"I have fallen in love with a stranger’s words. And now, standing here, I know—I was never in love with a stranger at all. Lena felt the weight of Ethan’s words settle deep in her heart. The day he found her first letter, he had already known. It was always meant to be them. She clutched the note against her chest, the wind teasing at its edges. “Why didn’t you come sooner?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Ethan exhaled, running a hand through his dark hair. “I wanted to. Every day. But I was afraid that maybe… maybe the magic would disappear if we met.” He laughed softly, shaking his head. “But standing here now, I see it was never about the letters. It was about you.” Lena blinked back tears, her heart pounding. “I felt the same way.” He took a step closer, his fingers brushing hers. “Then I guess there’s just one thing left to ask.” She swallowed hard. “What’s that?”
