People Should Help People

1514 Words
At midnight in the Green Tail establishment, the fun is just beginning. This place was highly respected among human players. The merry orc Drogger had loved to eat a lot of delicious food since childhood. But the upbringing and training of young orcs did not allow young Drogger to eat much. Like most orcs, young Drogger exercised his right to err. Orcs call it the Call of Blood. Every orc has the right to make any important decision. It can be a completely stupid and foolish decision that will not meet the understanding of the whole tribe. But every orc has the right to the Call of the Blood. Young Drogger has begun the study of Culinary! An orc who decides to become a Master of Culinary looks as ridiculous as Mouse, who decides to become a Master of Ax Fighting. Young Drogger met with much scorn and ridicule from his kin. But that did not stop him from becoming a master and turning his skills to his advantage. A cook can make very useful dishes.  The dishes that the master made can give many useful properties for a certain period of time. Drogger was a dangerous adversary and repeatedly punished those who tried to mock the master of Cooking with an ax behind his shoulders. Humans liked Drogger. They were as outcasts and not respected as young Drogger. The humans had enough gold to pay for food. The orc culinary was one of the first citizens who gave the people a chance to cautiously engage with the life of the Grossroads. The Green Tail became a place where respectable people from two respectable human organizations spent their evenings. No dueling was allowed in his establishment by the orc! At the Drogger establishment, you could buy inexpensive meat with a +2 strength and +2 body boost for 4 hours for 1 gold. People appreciated the importance and usefulness of the Green Tail establishment. At one table, the owner of the establishment treated a pleasant customer to his delicacies. "Swordsman Dan, you insult my sense of taste," Drogger muttered with a smile. "Why do you need these troublemakers and fools? If you have nowhere to put your gold then help my relative." "Drogger, I agree that young Dhroll is an excellent orc. I'll be sure to toss him a couple of hundred gold coins. But it must remain our secret. We all have a duty of care to our tribe," Dan finished the last piece of excellent meat and put the dagger away in his inventory. "I want to help these self-righteous newbies. They imagine they can count on the power of the old ways. The stupidity of these fools does not concern me. But people should help people. I should try to help these goldies become normal citizens." "I understand you. You are a good human being and a warrior. You can count on me. I'm willing to get a few hundred gold coins from you myself," laughed the orc culinary master.   Dan waited for the clock timer to show the first minutes of the new day in town. It was time for his attempt to help people. People should help people. The swordsman stepped into the center of the great hall and tapped his foot on the floorboards. "Please listen to me carefully. I have a proposition for the people. I want to exchange your gaming experience for my gold!" Raven saw that he had managed to draw attention to himself. The swordsman continued his speech "You have been living in Grossroads for over two weeks now. You all know that experience has lost its meaning. You have developed your beginning skills to the maximum. What's next? You accumulate experience and don't know where to spend it. Losing a duel robs you of your experience. Accidental death by a monster takes away your experience. And the main thing is that experience is easy to gain. Any peaceful person can kill 20 rabbits in a couple of hours and get 10000 experience points. If a lucky person kills 20 rabbits he gets 10 pieces of meat, which can be sold for 1 gold coin. But why isn't anyone selling experience?" Dan Raven looked at the people's faces and said what everyone knew perfectly well. "Experience is useless in Grossroads. Everyone needs gold coins. You can buy good artifacts with gold. You can buy useful food with gold. I come to you with gold. I am a man and I want to help other people. I will pay 1 gold coin for 10,000 experiences. 10 coins for a hundred thousand experience points. 100 coins for a million experience points." A short man with the eyes of a cautious beast shouted in the silence. "What do you need experience for, Swordsman Dan?" "Swordsman Dan is not interested in experience, experience is interested in Baron Raven," laughed Dan. "You are a normal warrior and until you are an aristocrat of the Grossroads you should not care about these questions." "It's my business what to worry about," laughed the man. "What kind of strange price is that? 1 gold coin for 10,000 experience points? He wants to cheat us! The price of 10,000 experience points is at least 10 gold coins!" People started talking loudly and discussing the unexpected and strange proposition. Everyone understood swordsman Dan's words perfectly. Most in this hall knew this lucky son of a b***h who managed to kill 100 bosses. This lucky guy and cheater had some secret but no one could guess Dan's secret. On the other hand, this guy managed to get the drawing of cool stuff and sold the drawing to the blacksmith Humhum. Swordsman Den has a lot of gold. But you can't immediately go along with this cocky guy who doesn't pay attention to other people's problems. The men grinned at the new aristocrat who came running to them when he needed the services of men. "Sergeant Nick said it right. Swordsman Dan, you set the price too low. I'm willing to trade my million experience for ten thousand gold coins," laughed the warrior with the big shield over his shoulders. "We will go outside the door of the establishment and not disturb the esteemed host. Do I understand correctly that you want to challenge me to a duel and kill me to gain my experience?" "You understand the final stage of the deal correctly. Only a duel gives players the right to exchange experience. My words you misunderstood. People should help people. I wanted to help people. I have no desire to help greedy and stupid goldies. There are enough smart and savvy players in this city who need gold and don't need a stupid, useless supply of experience points," Dan Raven turned and walked toward the exit of Green Tail. His path was blocked by a tall swordsman with a pleasant smile on his face. "I want to keep you company, Swordsman Dan. And my brother, who I trust will keep us company. I don't want my things picked up by any Goldie. Dan, I'd like you to meet my brother. His name is Naruto," the man laughed and pointed his hand to a blond boy with disheveled hair but no famous stripes on his cheeks. The young man's eyes were blue and shone with anticipation of taking part in an interesting venture. "Hey, Naruto, I hope you'll be the only one in this city for a long time," Dan nodded his head. "I'm cool. Dattebayo," the blond showed Den a thumbs-up. One of the scowling men intervened in the conversation. "Sarge, you're in a hurry. We'll have a meeting first and decide on this proposal," the man nodded to Dan and continued in a calm tone. "Your proposal is clear and serious. It must be considered carefully. The price per point of experience needs to be clarified. Such matters should not be decided hastily." "You can clarify prices and consider questions. I am an aristocrat and a warrior. I am not a clever man or a merchant. You still don't understand where you're in, Man. In this city, the word of an aristocrat is the golden word. I said it, and you heard me. Warriors, are you ready to close the deal? A quick duel and I pay the price of death in gold." "My experience is my business. I've lost all experience in a dungeon twice. I'm not going to lose a chance to buy great artifacts for thousands of stupid experiences I don't need," the tall swordsman stepped outside. Naruto winked at Dan. "My big brother is cool. We have a lot of experience. Do you have enough gold to buy two million experience?" Naruto didn't hide his sassy pleasure at the opportunity to get a couple of hundred gold coins. "I'm willing to buy fifty million experience. Do you people hear me? I'm not a salesman and I'm not going to make my offers all the time. Whoever was late did not have time!" Dan walked out of the establishment following Naruto.
