KADE I carried Liora back to the house in my arms. She was already spent and there was no way she could walk. By the time I placed her in my bed, where she truly belonged, she had already dozed off in my arms. I went downstairs and sat at the kitchen counter for some minutes, thinking the next step I would take to protect Liora and secure my company. I was at a disadvantage because I was in Japan and I only had Caine as my contact. Back in the States, I knew who to talk to. I could get the board to convene and bring them up to speed with my findings. But I would leave out the part where Michelle had tried to shoot me in the face. That wouldn't be good for business. And if they all knew what she was capable of, it could make them jittery. Cold feet, as they would say.
