Retrieving the sword

1486 Words
Franni walks into the deepest part of the treasure room, her own footsteps echoing all around the whole place. The whole place keeps getting darker with every step which she takes forward, which leaves her no choice but to switch on her wolf's vision. "I wonder what the gatekeeper will look like?" She mumbled inaudibly. As she expects her wolf to reply, but all she could hear is her own footsteps which means her wolf wasn't ready to chitchat. Franni was also happy that the i***t didn't reply, because she wasn't sure whether her brain was ready to take in another crazy stuff from her wolf. She ran her hand against the beautiful drawing on the wall and a wow escaped her lips. "As if it is a new thing," her wolf complained mentally. "Well, I couldn't blame you, it was your first time." "Like you have also seen it before?" Franni replied. "That drawing," she utters while pointing towards the drawing at the far end of the corridor; "can you recognize who it was?" "Well, I can't remember. But I can only guess." junk simply replied. "And you called yourself an ancient wolf."Franni muttered sarcasm. "Shut up," her wolf snapped. "It is a picture of an ancient demon wolf." "And who told you that?" Franni asked in utmost surprise. "I thought the ancient demon wolf was a myth, or should I say extinct; I never imagined one could exist." "So for your information, they are not a myth,"her wolf elucidated. "Though it was rumoured that Thanatos wiped out the whole pack, some still managed to escape, and they did a good job of hiding their identity and scent from the world." "Did you know the power and ability of an ancient demon wolf?" Franni asked. "Besides, what is the drawing doing here in the treasure room?" "Such a dummy," her wolf mocked. "How will you know?" She taunts her wolf. "if not because of the awakening moonlight power in me and the memory of my mother." At the mention of her mother, it brought back a fresh pain to her heart. Even though she had just turned 7 years old when the first ancient war occurred, she could still remember a little bit of her childhood, and that brought tears to her eyes. She couldn't imagine a day without her parents, especially her father. But they've both abandoned her and Rey in this harsh world; with a determined expression, she vowed under her breath to retrieve the sword, no matter the outcome or challenges she faced. She will make sure to retrieve the sword and restore peace to the world. Her wolf brought her back to reality. "They also possessed unimaginable strength, speed, endurance and durability," junk elucidated. "They are also known as elementary's wolf. "Then, how can they be defeated so easily?" Franni cuts her wolf short. "The power they possess is unlimited and every alpha or titan gets jealous of their power. The titans tend to steal every demon wolf's power, which makes them always hide their scent and hardly transform, unless it is necessary." "I hope to meet one soon." Franni elucidated. "Even if you meet them, you will never recognize them." Her wolf was taunted. "Seems like we have found the door," Franni muttered. Right in front of her stood a shining door, which was made of gold. She could feel the power of the sword reaching towards her, and the sword calling to her to come closer. Lost in trance, Franni walked further towards the golden door which opened automatically as she stepped closer. Franni walked inside the room and her jaw opened in shock. Right in front of her was a spacious room that was filled with every treasure you could ever dream or imagine. Some treasures were so precious that people would never dream of seeing them without knowing they existed. The whole ground was filled with gold, diamonds, adamantium, vibranium, and different kinds of weapons that could undoubtedly kill without hesitation. She could feel the connection between herself and the sword getting stronger, but she didn't know where to start her findings. Even though she was damn sure that the sword was close, closer than she had ever imagined. Franni was so lost in her imaginable world that she totally forgot about the so-called gatekeeper. "Franni, behind you," her wolf screamed at her. With her vampire speed, Franni was quick to vanish from her previous spot and a war hammer came crashing down with a loud thud. Standing in front of her was the gatekeeper. She was about 5ft tall with a well-built muscled frame. He was shirtless and all his biceps were well shown. His whole body was covered in tattoos while his long hair covered his whole face, making it hard for Franni to hardly see his face. "If I am right, you are here for the ancient sword, right?" The guardian utters in a deep voice. "Nope, I came here to retrieve it," Franni replied sternly. "It belongs to the Wolf's generation." The guardian let out a loud grumph laugh that echoed around the whole building. "And what is the assurance that you will live here alive with the sword? Many warriors have come here and claimed to be the rightful owner and the past wielder, but they all ended up on my table." "I am not like them," Franni replied sharply. It belongs to my master, Seer Argon. And I needed it with me, so don't try to stop me." "Is that a threat or what?" The guardian asked. "Anyhow you called it," Franni replied. Now, she could feel the sword calling out her name urgently, as if something urgent was about to happen. Then something clicked in her mind, her friends. Perhaps they are in trouble. Franni heard her wolf voice. "Be humble for once," she said. "Maybe, he might give you a chance." Franni nodded her head in approval. Her wolf was right. "Please," she begged. "The supernatural world is in danger if I don't retrieve the sword." She could see the guardian bending his head, as if thinking about her proposal. "Very well then, I would give you a chance to prove your self-worth," he bellowed. "Not because you deserved it, but the name you mention; he is a good teacher and master. And if you fail to wield it, then you will end up as my dinner tonight." Without further hesitation, Franni started moving toward the opposite direction. Following her instinct and the voice of the sword, she continues searching amidst the uncountable treasure in the room. Franni searched every nook and cranny of the room, but her search didn't yield any good results. "You have 10 seconds left," the guardian bellowed at Franni's hearing. Franni was about to give up, but she couldn't. Not when everything rested on her shoulder. She couldn't fail those who risked their lives for her, starting with her parents and the rest of the ancient warriors. And for the sake of her Little brother who is also out there looking for the amulet. She could have used their connection to ask how he is doing, but; this isn't the right moment. Especially now that he is the new Alpha and the fate of the whole moon pack now rests on his shoulder. Perhaps, if she was lucky enough to make it out alive, she would inform her brother before journeying to the abandoned temple. "Franni," her wolf called and broke through her thoughts."Use the connection that the sword brings to pull it out." She could understand what junk was trying to say. Why hadn't she thought of that before? "It appears you are useful for a change, junk." Franni elucidated mockingly. But, she could hear the loud voice of the keeper counting from 10 downward. Without wasting any more time, she closed her eyes and reached for the connection between her and the sword. Now, she could feel it and her eyes became unfocused. She relaxes her mind, breathes in gently, then taps into the connection. Franni was able to decipher the sword's whereabouts, but a sudden, loud footsteps disrupted her. She could see the keeper running for her with all the speed he could muster. But Franni reached for the connection again. Now it was easier than before and she could feel the sword's mind, as if it was speaking to her. "Come, my friend," Franni mutters mentally. "Let save the human and supernatural realm, and let show them the power of a true ancient Tri-hybrid." Out of nowhere, the sword flew towards Franni with the speed of light, as if it had been summoned by a magnetic field. It glued to Franni's hand and her Tri-hybrid form surface. "My queen," the keeper utters while bowing a few feet from Franni. "Command me, what should I do?" To be determined. This year 2021
