The Black Forest's Beta

Chapter 8

“This is so exciting!” I squeaked as we got onto the plane. I sat on the couch next to Ozzy as we talked about the history of Rome. 

After we were up in the sky Beta Raphael had Ozzy and I sit at the table that was occupied by Keifer and Tobias. He stayed in his seat next to Gamma Elias seeing as they had to do some work. “If you eat everything miele you can have chocolate after.” 

A plate was placed in front of me with noodles and broccoli with a white sauce on it. “What is it?” I asked, looking at Keifer and Tobias. 

“It is called Alfredo.” I shrugged and began eating it, cautiously at first, but once I discovered how delicious it was, I ate the entire plate. 

“You ate it all.” I heard Beta Raphael say from my mini food coma. I nodded before I let out a huge burp. 

“Damn Emma, that has got to be a solid 8.” Ozzy said judging by the noise and length. 

“Excuse me.” I said wiping my mouth. Tobais and Keifer nearly fell out of their seats with how hard they were laughing. 

“We...did not….expect...such.” Tobais started. 

“A...loud noise… to ..come out...of you!” Keifer finished as the continued to laugh. I found myself laughing too once their faces got red and tears began falling from their eyes. Soon everyone on the plane was laughing so hard they were crying. We would all stop, then someone, mostly me would laugh into the silence making everyone else laugh again. 

It took us half an hour to stop laughing all together. Mostly thanks to me. “You want some chocolate now?” Beta Raphael asked. 

“No, I'm too full.” I said rubbing my belly. I went back to the couch and sat beside Ozzy. We sat together in silence as the plane soared through the sky. 

“C’mere you two.” I sat down where Beta Raphael set something up. He pressed a small kiss to my temple as the screen of whatever we were watching began to change. I grabbed Ozzy’s hand in excitement as a movie began to play. My jaw dropped when I saw the dinosaurs on the screen. They looked so real. I read about dinosaurs in the books in the library, I found them fascinating. These creatures lived for billions of years to be wiped out by an asteroid. Had it passed the earth, they would still be dominating our world.

Ozzy and I were completely engrossed in the film so when it ended we both looked at each other sadly. I looked at my mate who turned toward us and struggled to hide his smile. “It’s over.” I told him, he nodded and walked over, I watched as he used his nimble fingers to press a few buttons going to a new screen. 

“Are all of those movies?” I asked putting my hand on his before he clicked anymore buttons. 

“They are.” He said lightly, I smiled at the endless options that seemed to appear on the screen. 

“What is your favorite?” I asked looking into his amused brown eyes. 

“You want to watch it?” I nodded and looked at Ozzy who was looking at the screen with drool hanging off his chin. 

“I don’t know how to choose anyway.” He said looking over, I smiled and wiped the slobber from his face. 

“Alright, this was my favorite series growing up as a kid.” He said as he clicked on more buttons. 

“What’s a series?” Ozzy asked as I watched his fingers. 

“It’s when a story is too long and needs more than one, be it more than one book, movie or game.” 

“How many movies are in your favorite?” 

“8.” I felt my eyes widen. 

“How are we…”

“You are not watching them all at once, we’ll do two today and figure out the rest later.” I nodded and smiled before I kissed his shoulder. I turned away from him as the movie began to play. Eventually he got up and got back to work. 

“Dinner will be out shortly.” He said as the three main characters played a real life game of chess.

“Shhh.” Ozzy and I said at the same time. He pressed a button and the movie stopped. I looked up at him and pouted. 

“Got to the bathroom, when you are done with dinner you can finish the movie, I promise.” I was still pouting as Ozzy practically ran to the bathroom. I refused to look at my mate who sat beside me, once Ozzy was done I went to the bathroom and cleaned myself up, peeing seeing as I had to go really bad. Once I was done I walked back out and sat in my previous seat still pretending to not see my mate. 

“What’s for dinner?” I looked at Ozzy who was looking at the doorway where the flight lady brought the food from. 

“Steak, mashed potatoes and scalloped corn.” I wanted to know what scalloped corn was, but I was still mad. 

“What’s scalloped corn?” Ozzy asked as curious as I was. 

“Something you will like.” His answer wasn’t helpful. 

“Emmaline?” I turned my head away from him as I crossed my arms over my chest. 

“I don’t think Emma appreciated you interrupting her movie.” Alpha Gunter chuckled. 

“I see that.” Beta Raphael said, his voice was full of annoyance. I wanted to turn around, but I stopped myself, he stopped the movie as Ron was about to sacrifice himself. 

“Your food is ready.” The flight lady said as she carted our food over to us. I gave her a small smile as I took my food and the utensils she handed both Ozzy and I. I cut the large piece of meat into bite size pieces before I tried it. I forked a piece and offered it to my mate who was sulking beside me. 

My anger and sadness at him stopping the movie faded as soon as the food arrived. Beta Raphael smirked and ate the meat before grabbing something from the tray. He poured a pile on Ozzy and my plates before grabbing a piece of my steak with his fingers and dipping it in the sauce. I opened my mouth as he brought the food to my lips. 

“What is that?” I asked with the steak pressed into my cheek, so I wasn’t talking and chewing. 

“Steak sauce. Do you like it?” I nodded as I finished my bite. I only had a few bites left when I realized I wanted chocolate. “Are you full?” I shook my head and he gave me a weird look. 

“You said I could have chocolate if I finished my lunch. I was too full to eat it, but I would like it now please.” I gave him a smile as he looked at my plate and sighed. 

“Alrighty then.” He said after nodding to himself. He grabbed a bar of chocolate and handed it to me. I smiled and ate half of it, giving the other half to Ozzy. 

“You finished lunch too Ozzy.” I said as he smiled and took the bar. I finished the chocolate and slid my plate to Beta Raphael who was sitting back beside me with an empty plate. He smiled and finished my food. It was only about five bites, but he seemed to like the fact I gave it to him, not anyone else. 

The flight lady came back and took our empty plates and wrapper. Beta Raphael hit a button on the thing and the movie began to play, from where we had left off. 

“How did you do that? Why didn’t it start over? And what is this thing?” 

“This is a laptop, all I did was pause the movie miele.” I looked at him and c****d my head in confusion. “Pausing means that the movie will play from when it was stopped. Is that why you were mad? Did you think you would have to start it over?” I nodded and sighed before I had to get up and pee. 

“How do you pause it?” He pointed to a long bar with his finger, I pressed it and the movie stopped again. “Woah, well I have to pee.” I said getting up and walking into the bathroom. I relieved myself, Ozzy was standing outside of the door, he went in as I came out. I sat beside my mate and grabbed his hand, tracing his large veins as I waited for Ozzy. 

“I like your hair.” I smiled and my face heated at the compliment he whispered in my ear. He took his free hand and played with the strands of hair that liked to get in my face as Ozzy and I watched the movie. 

“It’s not soft like yours.” I responded, remembering just how silk like his hair was when I touched it in the morning. 

“It will be.” He pressed his lips to my forehead as Ozzy came back and sat beside me. I let him hit the play button, we were instantly sucked back into the magical world of Harry Potter. Soon the end came and Beta Raphael played the next movie in the series. 

“How much work are you doing?” I asked before he left. 

“We’ve got a bit more, why?” He seemed surprised I was asking. 

“When you’re done come and watch it with us, you said it’s your favorite.” He nodded and kissed my temple again before getting up. Again I was engrossed in the film, I liked watching movies. It was the scene where Faux blinded the basilisk, when my mate could finally join us. He put his arm around my shoulder and I leaned my head on him. My eyes began to close as the movie came to an end, after walking around in the city I was tired.
