A Fated Mark

“Who’s this? And where on earth is that dog Lewis?” He laughed gingerly, holding Miranda by the shoulders, and looking between both of us. At the mention of Blair’s father, we both look down. “Oh my… Let’s get inside then, we’ll talk.” Guiding Miranda into the house. “I hear you need clothes, Little Wolf, and to tell me of yet another blessing of today, you’re not yet 18?” He says, his eyes and smile trying, and failing, not to show the sadness he felt. “Lucius, take her to your mother, she will have something for her. But please, she is the only exception to the ‘paws off the carpets’ rule or our precious Luna will have my arse upon the mantle by moonlight. Go, quickly.” He shooed. Giving a huff, Lucius turns back down the stairs and heads into the near by shed. Bane, giving him a smirk, held the door open for him as Lucius playfully whipped him with his tail on the way in. “Wait here, little wolf. My boy will take you to my mate, Brinley. Afterwards, please join Miranda and I in the living room.” “Mother. I’m her mother.” Miranda laughed. His head quickly whirled back towards me, mouth hanging open in realization. “A daughter? Wow! I’ve got two sons myself.” Don explains. “Lucius won’t take over for me without a wife first, that pain in my-“ “Tat tat, old man. There’s ladies present.” Rang a sarcastic voice. “Do not start with me about foul language boy. Run along, take the girl.” Lucius. Standing around 5’9”, shaggy blonde hair, and piercing hazel eyes. Those eyes were so ridiculously hypnotizing paired with that smart-alec smirk of his. I mentally licked my lips to take away the drool that may or may not have given away my attraction. Ah, but alas, the drool was not there, and to my horror, the licking was. While staring at this masterpiece of a man, the rogue female LICKED HER LIPS. Genius Talia. Smooth. I am too tired for this. Worse yet, he saw. He gave a sly but still shy smile my direction and a light rose color tinted his cheeks, Did *I* just make the baby Alpha blush? “Come on you big hairy thing, let’s see who you’re hiding inside.” He joked, leading me inside. As I passed him through the doorway, I whack him with my tail, earning a loud laugh from Bane not to far behind us. *Blair dear, almost ready?* *Yes, but calm yourself. I’m awkward as ever and you’re literally creating hell on earth for me by flirting around with the baby Alpha and eye screwing their Beta.* Blair answered. *Uhh the lip licking thing was totally an accident, I-* *The what?! Talia!* *Relaxxxx, he blushed. And it was an accident, really. In front of your mom and his da-* *In front of mom?! And Alpha Don?1! Talia, I swear to the Moon Goddess above, I’ll… I’ll… Figure it out dammit. Please… Just behave. I can’t with you already…*She threw out. I laughed as I focused back into reality. We had climbed the stairs to the fourth floor. The interior was matching to the exterior, dark red wood walls covered in pictures and paintings and certificates, a red carpet covering the floors. All these pictures, so many new faces to look at, until I stumbled upon some faces I sadly knew and I froze. The Alpha’s family, with Don standing hand-in-hand with him… Alpha Donte. With Abigail standing next to him. A low growl escaping my lips. “Talia?” Lucius called, now next to me. I guess I had made my way into a defensive stance as if I was going to need to, you know, defend myself. Against what? A silly picture? Get it together, silly dog, “Do you know Alpha Donte and his Luna Abigail?” He asked. I huffed, his face twisting into an ”uh oh” look, and didn’t push further. He gestured towards the door at the end of the hall. Once we had made it and he knocked on the door, it was quickly ripped open. What the hell was with this family and their aggressive door opening?! There stood this beautiful, naturally light blond woman. “Lucius.” She smiled kindly to her son. “Hey mom, may we come in? Our guest here needs a set of clothes an-“ “Of course, of course! Come on in.” She opened the door further, looking from my neck to my face again. The second time I’ve caught it since she opened the door. What even? Lucius gave me a playful nudge and smile, telling me to go first, earning me a dagger stare from the ice-blue eyes of his mother. Daggers and ice had to be the best option of description. While she may have looked small, the motherly aura that she emitted for mere seconds there was strong enough to honestly kind of freak me out for a second. Not even waving off her Luna aura, talk about Momma Bear… erm… Wolf? It was a brief flash, but I still internally shuddered. While still looking her in the eyes, I caught the faint clouding of a link going. “What? No, mom, not my mate. For Goddess sake.” Lucius rolled his eyes. “Damn.” Was all she answered, and with that, we entered the room. “Lucius, go to the closet and wait for me to get her sizes. Little Wolf, here’s a sheet, please, shift when you’re ready.” She smiled sweetly as if she hadn’t just held my soul in her own fragile looking hands about two minutes ago with her eyes. Yes, definitely a Luna. Very kind with her actions, yet so authoritative. Even the daggers a moment ago proved it, she just radiates a protective and fierce energy. **Blair’s POV** *Alright ‘Little Wolf’, you’re up.* She mocked, pulling back and allowing me to take control again, beginning the shift back to my body. This shift was significantly less painful than the first. As I reached for the sheet, my head felt fuzzy. So I slowed down, pulling the sheet to my body. Even though I had been mentally resting in my head all day, these past twelves hours must have left my physical body far too weak. I quickly dropped to the floor with a hard smack and was instantly surrounded by darkness.   **Brinley’s POV** --- THUD --- “s**t… Lucius! Come, help me.” I yelled. “Mind your eyes. She dropped before she could fully cover.” The sheet was crumbled beneath her, so he needed to lift her before I could fix her. After her sheet was fixed, I guided him to the guest room on the second floor, with the pack doctor and her mother already on the way. That husband of mine has some explaining to do. Did he blindly miss the mark of Callistra herself? “Sweet Goddess, what is it you want with this child.” I say out loud to myself.
