where's he?

As they finished breakfast, Samuel checked his watch and exclaimed, "Whoa, Syd, you'd better get moving! You don't want to be late for your contracts class!" Sydney nodded, yawning sleepily, and stretched her arms above her head. Her nightgown rode up slightly, revealing a glimpse of her slender legs. As she headed out of the kitchen, she turned back to Samuel. "Hey, Sam, have you seen Xander this morning?" she asked, her voice tinged with shyness. Samuel looked up from his phone, oblivious to the faint flush on Sydney's cheeks. "Nah, I didn't even see him leave. He must have headed out really early." Sydney's eyes lingered on Samuel's face before she nodded and headed upstairs. As she climbed the stairs, the morning light streaming through the windows highlighted her delicate features and sleepy blue eyes. Her blonde hair, tangled from sleep, cascaded down her back like a golden waterfall. In her room, Sydney flopped onto her bed, letting out a contented sigh. She stretched, yawned, and tossed off her nightgown. After rummaging through her closet, she emerged with a bright smile, holding up a crisp white blouse and a tailored black pencil skirt. "Ah-ha!" she exclaimed, triumphant. "Today's outfit is all about looking like a future lawyer rockstar!" She quickly got dressed, adding a pair of black heels and a statement silver necklace to complete her outfit. A sprinkle of light perfume and a quick swipe of lip gloss, and she was ready to take on the day. Downstairs, Samuel waited by the front door, jingling his keys impatiently. "Come on, Syd! We're going to be late! I have a meeting with the dean at 10, and I still need to drop you off at uni." Sydney skipped down the stairs, her heels clicking on the hardwood floor. "I'm coming, I'm coming!" she replied, laughing. As they drove to the university, they chatted easily about everything from their plans for the weekend to their favorite TV shows. Samuel couldn't help but tease his sister about her love of true crime podcasts. "Syd, you're going to make a great lawyer one day, but only if you can stop obsessing over serial killers!" Sydney playfully rolled her eyes. "Hey, someone's got to keep the streets safe from murderers and bad coffee!" When they arrived at the university, Samuel pulled up to the curb outside the law faculty building. "Okay, kiddo, this is your stop. Go ace that contracts class!" Sydney leaned over, giving him a quick hug. "Thanks, Sam. Have a good meeting with the dean. Don't let them give you too much grief." Samuel hugged her back, feeling a surge of affection for his little sister. "You too, Syd. Don't let the law books bore you to tears." As Sydney hopped out of the car, Samuel watched her go, it felt good to see her smile ....he still hated himself for his actions the night before, he knew exactly how she was traumatized by their dad.... but he didn't let his intrusive thoughts get the best of him and his little sister, she was all he had left.
