The morning sunlight streamed through the kitchen window, casting a warm glow over the room. Sydney stood at the counter, her phone in hand, a smile spreading across her face as she read a text from Alessandro.
Xander walked into the kitchen, his eyes fixed on Sydney with a hint of amusement. "I've changed my mind," he said, his voice low and smooth. "I'm bored out of my mind. Want to watch some TV with me?"
Sydney hesitated, feeling a pang of guilt. "I'm sorry, Xander. I actually have plans."
Xander's eyes narrowed slightly, his gaze teasing. "Oh? And what plans might those be?"
Sydney smiled, trying to play it cool. "Just a study date."
Xander raised an eyebrow, his expression skeptical. "A study date, huh? With who?"
Sydney's smile faltered for a moment before she regained her composure. "Just a friend."
Xander chuckled, the sound low and husky. "Save it, Sydney. I'm not buying it."
Later that day, Sydney walked out of her room, looking stunning in her baby blue dress. Her hair was loose, and her makeup was perfect. She was heading out to meet Alessandro, and she couldn't help but feel excited....
As she walked down the hallway, she bumped into Xander, who was standing outside his room, a beer in hand. His eyes seemed to rake over her, his gaze intense.
Xander's eyes narrowed slightly, his gaze teasing. "A friend, huh? You look like you're trying to impress someone."
Sydney laughed, feeling a sense of unease. "I'm just trying to look nice, Xander."
Xander's expression turned neutral, and he shrugged. "Suit yourself."
As Sydney walked away, Xander's voice stopped her. " Syd?"
Sydney turned back to him, her heart pounding in her chest. "Yeah?"
Xander's eyes seemed to burn with seriousness now. "Stay safe."
Sydney smiled, feeling a sense of confusion. "I will, Xander. Thanks."
As she walked away, Xander's eyes lingered on her, his gaze burning intensity. He took a sip of his beer, his expression neutral, but his eyes.....
