Love you? I could never love a man who forced me to marry him. I thought to myself as I dozed off.
1-day later 8:30 am
"Morning darling," Yibo whispered. "Don't call me that," I say as I got up from bed. I looked at my clothes confused. "Why did you change my clothes?" "Because wearing that outfit to bed would be uncomfortable, trust me," he replied. "Oh, thanks," I said flustered. I decided to get ready for breakfast. Yesterday was really fun. Dancing was the best part. The way he picked me up and spun me around. The elegant music that played. It was a dream come true. Maybe Yibo isn't that bad after all.
I helped Yibo put on his tie. Out of nowhere, he pushed me closer and kissed me. "What are you doing," I said as I pushed him away. "What does it look like? That's my way of saying thank you," he said. "You'll get used to it. Now let's go. We're late for breakfast. Oh just to let you know, we're going to the town." "Really?! I get to leave for the first time in weeks!!!" I shouted in joy. "Thank you!" I leaned in to kiss him. "s**t, I'm sorry." "It's fine," he said as he leaned to kiss me again. "This is my way of saying thank you," I said embarrassed. He smirked. "We should get going." "Yea, we should," I say walking out.
"Morning Yibo," King Qiren says sitting down. "Did you enjoy the dance yesterday? Did you meet new people?" "Good Morning. Yea, I did enjoy the dance, but I didn't meet any new people. What about you, Uncle? Are you still a single asshole? Or did you finally meet someone?" "What can I expect from you? You're a cold-hearted b***h around women," King Qiren chuckled. "You know what not just around women, to everyone. Doesn't matter if they're your elder, you don't give a shit." "Yeah maybe," Yibo mumbled. "When's the wedding? Are you ever gonna find a wife?" "It's gonna be in 2 months," Qiren said.
Qiren was right he is cold-hearted. But he's kind to me.
I sat down dazzled as always. The dining room was my favorite place to read. But I never understood why they need a huge table when there are only 3 of us.
3:30 pm
I felt the warm sky. I tilted my head up towards the beautiful clouds. It was amazing how clouds had their shape. I danced alone for a while. The wind blew through my hair again and I pushed it back pulling my fingers through its tangled knots. Out of nowhere Yibo joined. He grabbed my waist and picked me up. We could dance for hours like this. We twirled around as if we were in our own world. We danced in the empty yard as it started to rain.
"I don't ever want to leave this moment with you," he whispered.
I looked at him with glee in my eyes and said "We can stay for as long as you want, even for an eternity."
My eyes began to close, as I felt my surroundings change. The garden gates are covered in vines. The place I enjoyed most. Our hands clasped together. He took a step forward and time waited for us. The rain had stopped but we kept dancing. It was a simple waltz, sure, but it was magical anyways. He held me tightly, his hands grasping on my waist like if I couldn't be close enough.
For two hours we danced until he decided to go to town. I appreciated his kindness towards me.
We arrived at the town. Seeing families, couples, and children enjoying themselves brought me joy. Someday, I wanted to have a family of my own. I walked to the first shop I saw. It was filled with stuffed animals. "Wow," I said in awe. But the first thing that caught my eye was a stuffed bunny. "Look! A bunny!" "Are they your favorite animal?" Yibo questioned. "Mhm," I nodded. "Do you want one? I'll buy you two if you'd like. As many as you want," he said smiling. "Really?!" I shouted. He nodded. "I want two. I want that pink small one and that huge blue one," I said pointing at the ones I wanted. "Alright love, I'll get you both," Yibo said kissing me on the cheek.
I dragged him into every store that seemed interesting.
At last, we went into this called "The Bridal Collection". We should choose our clothing in advance. I don't want to go shopping at the last minute. They had so many beautiful dresses to choose from. But I need a suit, not a dress. "What are we doing here? We have two months to get ready," Yibo asked. "I don't want to get ready at the last minute. Do you see any suits that look nice?" I say walking around. "Yeah, I do. What about that one in the corner? Or that one?" he asks. "Sure, I already chose mine. They both match, don't you think?" I say. "Mhm," he nodded. "I'm going to go pay for the suits." "Okay, I'll meet you outside," I reply.
"We should get going now. It's about to be 11:00 pm," he says walking out. "You're right. It's late and I'm tired," I say. "Thank you for today," I said kissing him. "Anything for you," he said kissing back.
We got into the car and drove back home. Maybe he isn't all that bad.
"Hey, Yibo? Do you have a job?" I ask. "Hmm, no. Why would I need a job?" he says. "Right, you're rich. You don't need a job," I say dozing off.
