Dante rose up from the sofa and cautiously walked towards the bed. He stood along the side where Rosalie was sleeping and leaned in to observe her beautiful face as she peacefully slept the night away. Before heading to bed, she had asked him to stay with her because she was not sure if she could continue to keep control over her emotions.
She was frightened and the only way she could be at peace was if she had someone with her who understood her situation. He reached his hand out and hovered his index finger under her nose, feeling for her breathing. It was as shallow as it had been before. She was definitely in a sleep slumber and he did not want to disturb her. But he could not leave just yet.
