Long after the moon had already reached its zenith, about ten hours later, when the carriage came to a halt. Rosalie had been sleeping uncomfortably on the cushioned bench, her legs put up on it so that she was laying horizontally. The sudden halt of the horses and carriage did not wake her up from her sleep, it was the coach driver who gently knocked on her door who did. Confounded, Rosalie lightly lifted her head and muttered a 'yes' which he heard and took as a sign to speak.
