All that was on her mind was getting a reaction from Adam on her way towards them. Camila had made sure that she looked good and neat before she could confront him. She knew that if he was going to remember her for sure if she could get a reaction out of him. It would mean that he acknowledges her existence, the same way he does in the classroom. So she made sure to fix her face, hair and put on some perfume as well. The moment was very important to her and had to be memorable to Adam.
Flicking her hair over her shoulder and flashing them (mainly Adam) a radiant smile, Camila greeted them and asked to borrow Adam for a while. Even though none of them seemed fazed by the whole ordeal, Adam's detachment still managed to be on a whole different level. I mean they saw that kind of thing nearly on a daily basis with all of them being somewhat super popular at school, so Camila's confident "I'm getting my man" walk was nothing new to any one of them.
It was only after Liam whispered to him that she was his desk mate that Adam got up and followed her. Deep down inside Camila was already feeling like a winner. The fact that he followed her upon hearing that they shared a desk made her really happy, it meant that she was special in her own way. She was even willing to bet that she was the only girl he knew from their class. Yes guys, Camila was being delusional once again but we can't really blame her though. Her crush, no, the love of her life whom she had worked super hard to attract was finally going to talk to her. Really though, what more could she possibly want at that moment (something way more for sure, not that we're going to addresses it). Hearing his footsteps behind her was doing unspeakable things to her mind and body, crazy what love can do.
They finally got to the snack bar, the right place to deliver her news. She chose the snack bar because she knew a lot of people would be there, the perfect place to make her statement. The said statement being that Adam was hers. She lead him to the centre of the room and calmed down her racing heart, bracing herself for what she was about to do.
Camila took a few steps towards Adam, tucked her perfectly placed hair behind her ear, looked him in the eye and said, "It's me. Your prom date, that's me." She took a few more steps towards him, held his hands and told him the exact same word again, this time with a hint of excitement. For some strange reason or maybe it was due to Adam's popularity, the whole room was quite and focused on them. You're probably wondering, "how did Adam take that?" The answer is, like a pro.
This was not his first nor was it going to be his last public confession, so he couldn't be bothered. He had really good memory, so he remembered that Camila's and one his Das's associate's last names were the same. Meaning she was probably telling the truth. He had this figured out after the first time she had said it, before she reached out for his hands. Physical contact was one of the few things he hated, making his reaction one that Camila never saw coming.
