Chapter Six

1301 Words
I quietly left Benjamin's room, making sure he was comfortable and had everything he needed. As i stepped into the hallway, Amelia felt a sense of satisfaction in knowing she had helped him. Her concern for him was genuine, and i couldn't help but smile at the thought of being there for him. Reaching the dining table , she decided to check her phone, which had been untouched since the pool incident. Two notifications caught her attention . The first was a message from Noel , who had been pursuing her for some time. He was inviting me to have dinner with him at an exclusive restaurant, a date she had been avoiding for weeks. The allure of a glamorous dinner with the director was tempting, and it could potentially advance my career but i had Benjamin who was also prominent in the industry who was also her husband, who gave me roles without her asking and she proved herself that she was worth it. The second message was from her sister Indy, whom i hadn't seen in months due to her busy schedule and the nature of her work. Amelia’s sister was asking when she could visit and catch up, expressing how much she missed her. I went to work expectant the next day. It was my day off and I was glad that it happened after the pool incident. I also wanted to see Noel to talk about the dinner he asked but I got a text message from him suddenly cancelling on it and saying he would make it up to me. I stepped out of the gleaming glass-and-steel office building, my mind still occupied with what I would do today since there was no work. As i got out of the building , i was momentarily blinded by the setting sun. Shielding my eyes, she couldn't believe what she saw. An SUV pulled up by the curb, and the window rolled down. There, behind the passenger’s seat , sat my older sister, Indy . Her face broke into a radiant smile as i waved enthusiastically. My heart leaped with joy as i rushed to the vehicle. She opened the door and climbed into the passenger seat. "Indy, what are you doing here? I can't believe it's you!" I laughed and gave me a warm hug. "I missed you so much, sis! I thought I'd surprise you." My eyes welled up with tears of happiness. "You have no idea how much I've missed you, too." She looked around. "But where's Mom and Dad?" "They couldn't make it this time, but they send their love," Indy replied. "So, tell me everything! How have you been? And how's Benjamin? You never tell me enough about him!" I couldn't help but chuckle at my sister's curiosity. "Well, a lot has happened since we last talked. Benjamin is... well, he's quite something. We've been through a lot together. I think you'd really like him."I said slowly. My relationship with Benjamin wasn’t the way everyone expected it to be in real life but I had to put up an act constantly in front of my family. Indy’s eyes sparkled with interest. "Tell me more about him! Is he treating you well?" I nodded, a soft smile gracing her face. "He's treating me better than I could have ever hoped for. He's caring, kind, and so supportive. I can't imagine my life without him now." Both of us continued to catch up, with Indy sharing stories about her life recently and the adventures she had. The car stopped in front of the restaurant and I looked at her in confusion. She just held my hand and walked in. The restaurant she chose for lunch was a hidden gem, tucked away from the bustling city streets, offering a serene escape from the chaos of the city. As we entered, we were greeted by the soft tinkling of a grand chandelier made of delicate crystal and the warm, welcoming smile of the maitre d'. The walls were adorned with elegant, golden-framed mirrors and subtle, muted artwork that exuded a sense of sophistication. Benjamin was seated seating area selected was in a secluded alcove, discreetly positioned away from the prying eyes of other customers. The area was beautifully adorned with plush, deep blue velvet banquettes and gossamer curtains that gently billowed in the breeze. A wrought-iron trellis, covered in blooming wisteria vines, framed the space, casting dappled sunlight over the table. The soft, melodious notes of a grand piano filled the air, played by a pianist whose music added a touch of romance to the atmosphere. I began to wonder what was going on. Indy was having lunch with Benjamin, she didn’t say anything and Benjamin looked at me in surprise which went away quickly and Indy was busy with our orders. We ate in silence before we decided to go home. Indy offered to drop me off but Benjamin told her that he would. We got into the car and it went off into the road. The entire car was filled with silence and I looked out through the window watching the cars on the road. We got home and I showered getting ready for bed. “ There is nothing between us “ “ I never said there was” I responded immediately “ You look like you have that idea in your head “ he added. “ She’s your sister, talk to her. Making advances on her sister’s husband doesn’t seem right to me” Benjamin added “ How are you now? Are you feeling better?” Amelia asked Benjamin who sat at the edge of the bed while she stood looking at where he was seated. He nodded his head and Amelia got into bed and closed her eyes trying to fall asleep. I heard the door shut. He left , I guess. **** Today another scene with Benjamin and this scene involved us kissing. “ACTION” I watched in concern as Benjamin staggered into the room, his movements unsteady. He knew how to play his role perfectly. The scent of alcohol hung heavy in the air, and her heart sank. She had seen this side of him before, the result of stress and pressure that sometimes led him to drink. "Why did you drink again?" she asked, rushing over to him, her voice filled with worry. He didn't answer her question directly. Instead, his gaze fixed on her, and a smile tugged at the corners of his lips. "You came back," he slurred, his words slightly incoherent. My voice was firm but gentle as she replied, "I'll never leave you,, no matter how things turn out. I'm here for you." His smile grew wider, and he closed the distance between them, bringing his face closer to mine and he put his hand around my waist. In that moment, heart raced, and she felt a mixture of emotions: concern, affection, and longing. As his lips met mine, the world seemed to fade away, and for a brief, intoxicating moment, all that remained was the warmth of the kiss. His hand trailed over to my neck and he rubbed it slowly. I closed her eyes, savoring the sweetness of that stolen moment. I saw myself responding to the kiss and I put my hands around his neck. I then realized i had never kissed anyone on stage before so did he but this was real. “CUT” He stepped back and turned to leave the set with me looking over at the direction he went and Kat walked over to where I stood and held my hand. “ You did great” she said with a warm smile. “ I know “ I said with a small laugh and headed to the dressing room
