“A Shaman from my birth mother’s village came to anoint me on the day I became alpha. I told him how afraid I was of making mistakes as I lead this kingdom and he said, “When milk goes bad it turns to yogurt and when yogurt goes bad it becomes cheese. Cheese is more valuable than milk and yogurt. When grapes sour it transforms into wine which is even more expensive than grape juice. You’re not bad because you made mistakes. Mistakes are the experiences that make you more valuable as a person.”

“I thought he was an old kook and disregarded his advice until I made a mistake that cost four people their lives. It was a rogue attack and I was an arrogant eighteen year old trying to prove to my dad that I was ready to take over for him. When we were alerted about the about them it was reported that there were only three. So naturally I took charge and made four omegas to follow me. In my mind I just needed them to tie them up after I dispensed with them. There were actually twenty rogues who demolished them. I was beaten so badly I thought I was gonna die.”

When I came to I was rewarded with corporal punishment, one hundred lashes. I took them without complaint because those four men had names. Will Norton, age 26, mated with three kids, twin boys and a little girl. Mate’s name is Abigail, son’s names are Benjamin and Jeremy ages ten.And his daughter’s name is Samantha, age eight. Tyrone Gordon, age 23, mate’s name is Talisha. She was pregnant with a little boy whose name is Cody, age six. Jacob Flats, age 18 no mate, but he had a little sister, Sarah age 16 and a mother named Linda, 38. She died the day Jacob died. And lastly there was Gordon Priestly. He was an 18 year old orphaned. August 30 is Memorial Day in our kingdom. I pray to the goddess for forgiveness the entire day with no food or water. This attack led me to write a protocol for all packs in my kingdom to follow. All violent rogues should be killed on the spot. In the last six years there have been no rogue attacks. Do you understand where I am coming from?” I asked my mate as she looked at me with sorrow and reverence.

“I had no idea. Have their families forgiven you?” She asked.

“All except for Sarah. She hates me, but I am her legal guardian until she turns 17. I have accepted her hate for me, but now that you’re here I am concerned about her misguided plan to take away the person that I love the most. ”I said as I sat down beside her.

“May I meet her?” She asked simply.

“Why?” I asked taken aback.

“I know how she feels.”She simply replied.

“She is one of the head omega in the kitchen. You can meet her there.” I answered.

“At only 16? That’s impressive. Is she working now?” Juliette asked.

“Probably.” I answered.

“Then I’ll go meet her now.” She said as she walked over to grab her housecoat.

“Baby it’s nearly midnight. Meet her in the morning.” I suggested.

“Okay, but I’ll meet her alone.” She said as she took the book out of my hand and cuddled up to me.

“Yes Alpha.” I chuckled as I turned off my lamp and pulled her closer to me. This is what heaven feels like.I thought as I closed my eyes.

*The Next Morning*

When I woke up the next morning I was very happy to see Juliette’s body wrapped around mine. As the sun streamed through the windows, I watched as her beautiful skin glowed. She is magical. I bent down to kiss her forehead and she stirred and looked up at me.

“Good morning mate!” She said as she stretched her body.

“How do you feel?” I asked while being mesmerized by her body.

“Refreshed.” She said while giving me a coy look.

“You have a meeting with Sarah in thirty minutes. It’s gonna take me at least an hour before I’ve had enough of you.” I whispered in her ear as she shivered.

“Make time for me then.” She said and kissed me deeply. We got up, shower, and got dress. Her grandmother has good taste. Juliette came out of our closet a white, blue and green striped empire waist suit dress. Jada and Rebecca could never compare to this kind of beauty.

“Tomorrow we will take the jet to South Carolina. I think we should stay for at least a week.” I suggested. She turned and looked at me with shock on her beautiful face. “You are just so damn pretty.” I said bated breath. That of course made her smile. That smile is what I live for.

“Thank you Cass.”S he said as she kissed my cheek. “Now show me to the kitchen. ”We went down the elevator to the first.

“The kitchen was set up like a restaurant, because that’s what it essentially is. We would sit down and look at the menu to order our food. Omegas would bring it to us and of course you are obligated to tip. ”I said as we headed to the alpha’s table.

“I understand. ”She said as she sat down in the chair I pulled out for her. “Could you please invite Sarah to our table?”

“She may not come.” I said cautiously.

“Tell her I request her presence.” She simply said.

“Sarah.”

“Alpha.” She said curtly

“Please join my mate at the Alpha’s table.” I said politely.

“Is that a command?” She challenged.

“My mate wants to meet the talented 16 year old who is about to be promoted to a head omega position.”

“Oh, okay. ”She responded.

“I think that she’s coming, I’m not entirely sure.” I reported

“She’s curious about me.S he’s coming.” Juliette said. Not five minutes later Sarah arrives at our table with a look of curiosity and deviance on her young face.

“Alpha, Lu-Alpha.” She said as greetings.

“Please have a seat. We need to have a serious conversation.” Sarah sat down nervously but Juliette just smiled. “I’m new here and becoming friends with a head omega may get more people to like me. What do you think?” She asked seriously.I was absolutely confused on where she was going.

“Wait, you want to be my friend?” Sarah asked skeptically.

“We’re close in age and having some arm candy may endear me to the rest of the pack. What do you think?” Juliette said with a smirk.

Sarah laughed .I haven’t heard her laugh since she was ten. Sarah is indeed a beautiful young lady. She was about 5’6 with long straight red hair and flashing blue eyes. She has a slender curvy build. I swore to my self that I would take care of her like she’s my little sister for the rest of my life. “Why are you trying to butter me up?” Sarah asked.

“I have two reasons. One, I really do need a friend close to my age. This old dude tries his best but there is still a big age difference. And two, you’re so angry and you have no one to vent to about how you feel. You hate your alpha because you feel he destroyed your family. But do you know what happened in his final moments?” She asked as she reached for Sarah’s hand.Sarah shook her no. “Close your eyes and see what really happened to your brother.”S arah followed her directions.

I decided to leave and let them bond. Granted, I don’t know how Juliette knows about her brother’s final moments but I’ll ask about that later. I saw Beau and our cousin Tae Jun sitting at the ranked wolves’ table. “You didn’t spend the night with your mate?” I asked.

“She told me that she’s waiting for marriage.She stayed with her sister.”He said sadly. Tae Jun and I laughed. “Why are you still here? You better hurry up and put a ring on it.” I chortled.

“He’s all happy because he’s a mated wolf. I’ll probably be the same way if I ever find a mate.” Tae Jun said.

“There she is!” Beau said excitedly. Royal had on a blue tailored Armani suit that showed off her curves. Regal entered after her with a cream colored Armani suit. They both looked this way and smiled. Then Regal’s body went stiff.She looked over at us again with confusion on her face.

“Mate!” Tae Jun shouted.Regal looked at him with fear on her face and nodded her head. Tae Jun ran over to her and pulled her into his arms with nothing but pure happiness on his face.

“I’m half wolf and half witch.” She blurted out.

“Okay?” Tae Jun said unsure.

“You’re my second chance mate.” She answered

“Who would reject perfection?” Tae Jun asked as he pulled her into a hug. “You just became my sole reason for breathing mate.” He said as he kissed her cheek. She looked up at him and searched his eyes for deception but found none and returned his hug.

“Alpha?” I turned around and saw Sarah and Juliette smiling. “Thank you for trying to save my brother. He always said that you were a good alpha. I’m sorry for just now understanding how great of an alpha you are.” She said as she bowed her head towards me.

“You’ve done nothing wrong.” I said. I looked over at my mate with lots of questions on my mind.

“So Regal, is this your new boo?” Juliette said as she walked over to me and wrapped her arms around my torso. She looked up at me and smiled at me. “As you can see, I require my beta and gamma to dress professionally at all times. Of course training would be the exception. I need to speak with you all of you later in twenty minutes. Please meet us in the conference room on the alpha’s floor.” I felt the slight but friendly alpha power behind it.

“Yes alpha!” They all replied.

“Oops, sorry guys.” She then began pulling me back to our table. “My boo hasn’t eaten anything yet guys.” She shouted as we walked away. Once we sat down she began eating in such a sophisticated manner it made me feel like a Neanderthal. When we’d finished she put her fork down and said, “We have something major to discuss.”
