Forlorn for Eternity in the midst of Happy Endings

Chapter 3

AUTHOR'S POV

"WHERE ARE THE DAMN ASPIRINS?!" Amelia yelled at the top of her lungs, as her clumsy ass turned her whole mansion upside down in the search for her medicines.

Menesmay, who was contemplating jumping off the balcony rail with the most adorable sun-kissed face broke out of her trance in a mere second and knowing exactly what to do she texted Merenla as she mumbled to herself, "Merenla... your soulmate is destroying her huge room and maybe even the whole mansion for the sake of Aspirins, you know what to do now." And with that she hit send with a grin and jumped down from the third floor balcony to the second floor's side shade that covers the mini garden just outside Amelia's adoptive step-brother, Yoon-Gi's suite.

Within 10 minutes Merenla who had been near Amelia's Mansion entered inside to save the morning. With her quick steps, May rushed towards Amelia's room after winking at Yoon-Gi teasingly.

From one side Merenla hurried towards the main door of the mansion in panic and concern while on the other hand, Menesmay ran as if she'll miss the major part of a drama.

Merenla had bought 16 tablets of Aspirin and enough breakfast to feed 6 people.

With quick steps May opened the front door and ushered Merenla to come inside. Both darted straight upstairs to the source of the grumbles and yelps.

Before running upstairs, Merenla had handed a maid the food bags and instructed her to serve everything on the breakfast table.

Merenla internally cursed as she took in the chaos that is Amelia's room currently. Amelia had her back towards the door but Menesmay's whistle alarmed her. With a quick turn she sighed in relief as she saw Aspirins in Merenla's hand. With a "Thank you" she took them from her. After calming down. Amelia turned around to check her phone only to frown in response as she finally saw the mess she had created.

'Oh no...this is so not good for this OCD woman' Merenla thought and exchanged a knowing look with Menesmay. The latter cleared out her throat as she said, "Ah- Amy! Merenla bought a lot of food! Come on let's go lunch it all down before Jin sees it." Merenla practically dragged a frozen Amelia downstairs along with her beaming friend. The trio arrived just in time to be greeted by the sight of the Valeron Mansions' personal Chef, Kim Seok-jin's angry yet cute pout. Menesmay just rolled her eyes as she passed by Jin and sat on the dining table while Amelia squinted her eyes at Jin in annoyance because she's too hungry to keep up with Jin's bickering on proper diet and health at the moment. But things were different for Merenla as a blush crept up her cheeks and adorned her ears and neck red too.

Feelings can't be hidden inside after all. They come out reddening our cheeks and ears. All of this didn't go unnoticed by the mischievous May as she realized, someone has a crush huh...

Merenla somehow caught the sight of May's gaze on her and soon realisation hit her. s**t, am I blushing or something? Oh no. She mentally cussed at herself.

"Amelia...may I ask why your friend bought so much food when I had already prepared breakfast for the entire family?" Seok-Jin narrowed his eyes as he expressed his disappointment and gloominess, which resurfaced externally in the form of a pout.

Cute. Merenla thought but that didn't stop her from replying with sass, "Oh come on! I'm not the one to blame here. I, being the considerate friend, only brought food cause I knew Amelia after a hang over is an Amelia not to be messed with." Knowing what's coming next, May gulped down her Orange juice and headed out.

Jin rolled his eyes as he said "I told you Merenla you aren't allowed to bring food from outside to my kitchen" to which Merenla replied, "It isn't your kitchen tch. You just cook here." Amelia knew better to stay out of this as she moved close towards the dining table to grab a grilled cheese sandwich whose aroma had been bewitching her since she stepped foot in the Dining quarters.

Two can play this game. Merenla thought...only for Jin to snap back at her, "I don't care...but if you keep bringing food from outside...I will find another place to work in." He knowingly teased her all aware of the effect his mere presence has on this young woman. With an internal chuckle he turned towards the counter.

But before anyone could say anything more Amelia who took a few bites of the sandwich brought by Merenla and with utter distaste grumbled, "Please Jin...have you tasted this? It tastes so horrible! I can't live without your cooking!!" With a dramatic roll of her eyes she snickered towards Merenla, "Hey! Don't ever bring this stuff again. Literally ruined my taste buds." And headed out.

And Jin genuinely smiled at Amelia's compliment while Merenla sighed and went to grab a glass of water.

On the other hand, Amelia felt a little strange from not receiving another word from the couple who just needed to date already, honestly these two act like a married bickering couple all the damn time but never realise the way the other person practically lights up in the presence of the other.

Two halves of a whole just need a glue to stick them together I guess. Amelia thought as she pulled out her phone to check for notifications.

After a moment of awkward silence, Merenla looked up to where Jin was dicing meat and chided in, "Jin? So, do you know how to bake a tres leches cake? It's my mother's birthday after two weeks and I wanted to surprise her with a cake baked with love." To which the aforementioned hummed along to, "Great idea. It'll be a nice gift. Let's start teaching you the basics tomorrow at 5pm."

Both of them exchanged smiles as Jin began cooking for the others and Merenla gave him space and headed out of the quarters.

Yoon-Gi eats at 10am while Mr and Mrs. Valeron will be here in 15 minutes...I need to speed up.

Amelia plopped down in the lounge beside Menesmay who was lazing around and watching TV out of boredom. A stupid documentary on killing. Again? Ugh. I'm tired of all this blood and gore.

With loud footsteps a panting Yoon-Gi quickly entered the lounge and cursed under his breath. "f*****g hell...Amelia? Haven't you seen the news yet? Quick change the channel!"

"What's there on the news?" Menesmay asked as she tuned in on a news channel only to see weather reports.

Amelia shook her head and with a sigh calmly spoke, "No I haven't. Did something happen Yoongs? You look tensed."

"UIM news channel. Fast." Yoon-Gi ordered and Menesmay obliged.

Nervousness and anxiousness crept up Amelia's spine as she heard what the news anchor was reporting about.

She didn't understand why her step-brother wanted her to tune into this specific news channel as UIM News was known for interfering with celebrities or the life of famous business personalities. An entire agency dedicated to spying and stalking on celebs' lives and reporting each breath they take.

But now she understood why

The man spoke, "Addison Meckinze and Justin Park are reportedly dating they were found in a secluded part of Central Park enjoying a romantic date but it was interrupted by a few paparazzi" a video was played that showed how the hateful comments were thrown like dirt at the couple.

Amelia looked at the TV with a blank face, not really surprised but, the video made her heart ache for the model...her rude fans were saying words that she couldn't really hear because the video had no sound but from their body language... it was pretty sure that they were sending hate for the poor model. Even Justin looked so done and angry at them as he grabbed Addison by her wrist and took her towards his car.

Knowing exactly what to do Amelia texted her assistant Laura, commanding, "Fix a meeting between me and Mr. Justin Park tomorrow afternoon at 2 pm.Cancel and reschedule if I have any meetings around afternoon tomorrow as well. Call for a press conference at 2:30pm too and don't ask me any stupid questions regarding all of this." With a sigh she put her phone down and looked at May. "A meeting will clear this mess up." To which May nodded.

What she was about to do tomorrow was going to hurt her self-esteem a little but she really didn't want to let the model suffer just because of her past with Justin.

She quickly turned off the TV only to be grabbed and taken abruptly towards Menesmay's room. With a chuckle the latter teased, "A dare is a dare Amy." Great. Now she has to sing a f*****g song. What a day.

Now Amelia doesn't have to just face Jimin tomorrow but people are also going to make fun of her terrible vocals as well? Amazing. What perfect timing for all of this to happen.

Valeron Corp

Feeling all her energy drained already, Amelia was driving towards Valeron Corp with Menesmay by her side. It was just half past 1. She still had time to prepare for her meeting with Jimin.

Apparently, Amelia's cover video went viral with 4 million views in the past 15 hours and the comment section was filled horribly with questions about her and Justin. A lot expressed their theories claiming the cover was posted because Amelia felt "heartbreak" over the latest news regarding Justin and Addison dating.

Yeah sure, heartbreak for a cheater huh. As if I'd ruin my peace for a guy who cheated on me. Amelia wasn't in her brightest moods today, especially after all that the media is doing.

Some even claimed that Amelia sang the song to let everyone know how Jimin wronged her. Ugh! everything became 10 times worse with May's stupid dare. Amelia thought as she frustratedly hit the wheel of her black Lamborghini to which Menesmay sighed and reached her hand out to hold Amelia's.

With an apologetic smile May tightly held Amelia's hand as if in comfort, "I am sorry... Amy, I didn't kno-" But she was cut off when Amelia started speaking, "It's okay May, I am not gonna lie about not being mad at you cause I am kinda mad at you but Justin is the one at fault here. He shouldn't have gone out with his girlfriend before I cleared out that we ended on good terms even though it's a lie..." She sighed as she let most of the fault hang on her shoulders. We're both to blame here.

May saw this and to her luck, Amelia drove her car into the parking lot of Valeron Corp and she quickly took the opportunity to hug Amelia, almost sitting on her lap in the process.

May was about to say something but Amelia spoke instead, "I know what you are going to say...'Amy it isn't your fault, you can still fix this and we are here for that" she tried her best to copy May's tone but she failed miserably cause May had a hot deep voice that could intimate both men and woman as compared to Amelia's angelic voice which was also nicknamed as 'Baby voice' by her cousin.

May chuckled at her failed attempt and grabbed her phone and sunglasses and got out of the car with Amelia who was squinting at the glasses in her hand to May.

"What do you need these for?" She questioned to which May sighed and flipped her hair "It's for the coolness." with a wink she turned around and both headed inside the building.

Both of them headed into the elevator after greeting the 2 watchmen with a simple "Hello". Another employee who was in the same elevator as them quickly pressed the buttons to Amelia's cabin shortly after greeting her and saying, "Ma'am everything is ready we were just waiting for you."

The elevator made a 'ding' sound, indicating that they reached their destination. With a smile Amelia thanked the employee and stepped out of the elevator.

Both the girls were heading towards the room prepared for the meeting but suddenly May got a call. She mouthed a 'It's urgent' to Amelia and picked it up.

Amelia looked behind to see May attending a call and Laura looking at May like a lovesick girl.

Sigh, what am I gonna do about this now.

Amelia chuckled to herself as she opened her cabin door to see Justin already sitting on a couch near her mini book shelf.

The moment their eyes met eachother each of their hearts skipped a beat..."Well s**t" Amelia cursed under her breath, which didn't go unnoticed by Justin.

Justin let out a dark chuckle and Amelia narrowed her eyes at him 'Maybe this wasn't a good idea' Amelia thought...but her time in overthinking land was broken by Justin speaking, "Ms. Valeron if you are done making a hole in my body with your glaring can we talk about what I am actually here for?" Amelia sighed and walked towards her seat.

She absolutely hated how disrespectfully he was talking as if this meeting wasn't going to benefit him. Being cocky and arrogant wouldn't take him anywhere. Ugh why did I even agree to this?

Meanwhile Amelia and Justin started having an actual glaring contest instead of sorting things out. On the other hand, Laura greeted May with a simple "Hi" but to her dismay she didn't even reply back to her but completely ignored her as she rushed out of the building...leaving Laura to think "So...no signs of friendship huh."

But this thought was suddenly replaced by another one, 'Maybe she didn't greet back cause she was in a hurry'. She tried to be positive nonetheless.

Inside Amelia's cabin, the ex-couple payed no mind to stop the staring contest but her phone did as she received May's texts one after another.

Amelia sighed as she focused on why exactly she had called Justin here. To sort stuff out.

Clearing her throat to grab Justin's attention, Amelia finally spoke, "I will clear everything up in the press conference today. Maybe I have to make up a few lies but yeah Addison Meckinze will be at peace at the end of the day." she gave a tight smile to Justin, something she learnt from her adoptive step-brother Yoon-Gi.

Justin on the other hand was not too pleased with her choice of words 'Make up a few lies? I didn't cheat on her, what I did was worse than cheating and I am not telling her any time sooner about it but, I can't let her think that I cheated on her with Addy. She never deserved this' he thought.

Amelia felt her blood boiling at Justin's lack of words but she kept her anger within herself.

"I didn't cheat on you with Addy for the sake of humanity" Justin deadpanned but also immediately regretted saying that. He was still kind of annoyed with Amelia's stoic and passive aggressive behaviour.

Amelia mockingly chuckled at a frowning Justin for his choice of words as she retaliated, "Who you cheated on me with or any of that topic doesn't matter Justin. In the end you did cheat on me, as a result of which we are done with. This conversation is totally pointless and not needed at the meeting. Shut it with the bullshit and act civil with me at the press conference alright?"

Amelia got off from her chair and walked to her cabin door to leave but she was stopped by Justin's hand holding her wrist.

In a split second she was trapped in between the wall and Jimin. Amelia spoke with gritted teeth and a scowl, "What do you want fucker? Don't touch me!"

She struggled to get out of his grip and in that moment all Justin wanted was to connect their lips and tell her that he didn't cheat on her for f***s sake but his rational thoughts came running to his brain. Let her go Justin. You have a girlfriend now.'

With one last look, Amelia got out of his loosened grip and half yelled at him "I don't know what the f**k that was but I don't want your hands on me again okay?! You sick bastard! I will let you go this once and I am doing a favour for you and your girlfriend! So, do me a favour and never come to me with your filthy face again!!" and with that she stormed out of her cabin.

Justin got himself out of her cabin as well, he wasn't sure what to say so he just stared at her retreating back.

Amelia was faced by a concerned Jungkook and Laura but before they could say anything she beat them to it, "Is the conference room ready?" she asked Laura in a stern voice to which Laura replied, "Yes ma'am, just awaiting for your orders."

She nodded and sprinted towards the conference room, thinking that Justin knew the directions and that she would find him there already.

She got into the conference room with a sigh and soon after Jimin followed behind. Ignoring his existence, she climbed up the stairs and got on the stage.., sat on the chair next to the fancy long table and Jimin did the same.

All reporters had turned on their cameras and before anyone could ask anything, Amelia cleared her throat as she spoke "I am sure that all of you are curious to why I called a press conference for something so minor? Well, it happens to be that my fans are extremely concerned about my nonexistent love life with Justin here and I would have gave this matter a deaf ear if public hadn't attacked his current girlfriend. So, I will make it clear for everyone, Justin and I ended our relationship because we weren't compatible enough for each other, he didn't cheat on me and public should gather proof before tainting an uprising model's career with such nonsense rumours. My sincere apologies if I sounded rude but I said what had to be said. Now, does anyone have any inquiries?"

Justin felt all sorts of guilty but he had to keep cool and try not to show his emotions for this press conference to work and a reporter stood up, a mic was given to him with the help of one of Amelia's workers."So...Ms. Valeron, What is the meaning of the song cover that you posted on YouTube?"

Amelia internally groaned in annoyance but she let out a chuckle at the question. "Everyone present in this room knows my cousin Menesmay Valeron, who is also a MMA champion right? It happens to be that I lost a bet and that was a dare given to me by her" she answered truthfully.

Justin tried his best to not laugh or smile 'Totally something May would do' he thought, whereas the reporter seemed to not believe what Amelia said but he shrugged it off nonetheless.

Another reporter stood up and asked "Mr. Park, do you still love Ms. Valeron?" Amelia mentally rolled her eyes 'That question has nothing to do with the purpose of this press conference' she thought as she spoke "that's not a relev-" but she got cut off with Justin's, "I do."

What the actual f**k Justin?! Why are you complicating this even more? Amelia thought as she glared at Justin and snapped her eyes towards her secretary.
