Livia

As soon as I stepped into the pack house, the first pair of eyes that met mine belonged to my mate, Rick.

"Livia." He called out as soon as he meets me, standing high so that my head was at length with his chest.

I looked away to my side and swallowed. "Rick..." But before I could speak another word, his hands were already around me and he pulls me into his arms before I feel his lips forcing my lips apart.

"I missed you... so much." He mumbled the moment his lips got free. "woke up looking for you."

"I ... was with ...."

"With whom?" He asks as his hands folded around my waist and I gaze at him.

"with my friend."

"I see... Well did she give you a makeover cause you look sexier..." He mumbled his lips nibbling at my lips again before going down to my jaws, his hand already sliding up my shirt.

"Rick." I called in polite defiance and he pulled himself off quickly and turns around while I follow him up the stairs.

"Where's..." I look around. "Stella?"

"Why are you suddenly asking of her like she lives here?."

"Rick, is she still here or not?" I fold my arms.

"Still."

"Yeah, you were having a great party last night."

He sighs. He thinks I'm not aware of his disgusting act with Stella last night. Or maybe he was just drunk again. But she was gone and as I was alone with Rick again I was beginning to feel like I had him to myself again. "is she?"

He sighs and looks up. "Yes she is... So is everyone else." He quickly adds. "The party is ongoing down hall. You should join us." He grabs my hand and slides his body against mine, watch my expression before pulling me.

once we got to the railing, I could already hear loud cheering down the hall.

I was still standing up the stairs when I sighted Stella pouring drinks for her friends. Instantly, my mood swings and I gazed at her carefully.

In distraction, I feel Rick's arm slip around my waist. "Let's get down." He said and leads me down the stairs. With a renewed sense of pride, I walked down eager to have Stella see us together.

And as soon as I reached the floor where everyone else sat, my eyes met Stella's and I cast her a knowing look. However she didn't appear jealous at all seeing Rick and I together. She was good at hiding it. I thought

While the music was still playing, Rick and I stood t a corner when suddenly I hear a female voice taking over the microphone.

"Alright ladies and gentlemen! Hope you're having a wonderful lupine noon?" It was no one else but Stella.

There's loud cheering from the others and as soon as it goes down, she continues. "Before the meeting formally starts, the alpha and I want to take this short moment to announce to this wonderful family that we're expecting a baby!" Her hand spreads over her stomach as she says that and a murmur of surprise and cheers fill the room all together.

What?

I stood still, my face turning completely white from coldness.

I look over at Rick. And from his facial expression, I can tell it hadn't been their plan to announce it but when the attentions got to him from the folk, he joined others to cheer anyway leaving me where I stood.

Everything has appeared unbelievable but what I just heard now was totally too unreal for me to handle.

My wolf continued snarling harder. She was hungry for a ferocious kill. Even I wanted to grab Stella and tear her apart with my fangs. Rick too.

But instead, I placed my drink on the table and walked out of the hall.

Almost as I left, I heard my name from Rick's voice and he reached me, grabbing my hand till I turned back to him.

"Congratulations alpha." I say while facing him. He didn't even have anything to say.

"Thank you, Livia." Stella was the one who replied. The brat was walking up to join us.

I drew in a painful breath and looked from her and back to Rick.

"How could you do this Rick? To us? So you have been going behind my back f*****g my sister and now she's pregnant?"

"Livia... Be mature and let's talk about this later" He whispers.

"Don't give me that, Rick. How can you be so blind to what she's trying to do? Can't you see that she's only after you now because you're the alpha?"

"That's a fat lie." Stella cuts in. "The alpha and I are in love. Yes! Now you have it."

My lips parted but I'm unable to say a word and my eyes cracked as she said that.

"Do you think the alpha would actually want you?" She continued. "Even he knows that you're not going to be by his side. He's the alpha and he deserves to rule the pack with a Luna that's strong and competent as well. A woman who can fight alongside him. Not an omega!"

What got me even more dazed was Rick who didn't even bother to deny it. He just stood there and let her talk to me in such a manner. I guess it was true after all.

"He's definitely not going to choose you over me." Stella folded her arms.

I faced Rick. I couldn't even endure looking at him. He didn't even show any remorse anymore. He stood firmly with fists clenched and teeth gnashing. "Is that true, Rick?"

They said I was weak but none of them knew how much energy I was using to keep myself still on my feet because I felt like I would collapse at any moment. The level of heartbreak that I felt was too deep for me to handle. Avoiding my gaze, Rick finally opened his mouth to speak.

"We can't do this here, Livia. Let's get home first and talk this out."

"No. I want you to give me an answer now. Right here, right now. And if you don't I'll walk out of here and it's over between us forever." My heart shuddered with each word that I brought forth.

He lowers his head so that his words don't sip out, his warm breath now cold over my lips.

"Livia, she's carrying my child. Give me time to decide."

I let out a scoff and took a step away from him. "Exactly." I continue walking backwards until I'm near the door. I stood upright and faced no one else but my mate making sure he watched me. "Alpha Rick... I, Livia Brentwood, reject you as my mate!"

As I got into the car and drove towards the road that would take me to the Silverbay pack. My heart was heavy and with each passing second, I felt a heavy this thud in my chest and I felt like I would break down at any moment.

Just as I drove out of the borders of the pack, Rick mind linked me.

"Livia. I, alpha Rick Bridge rejects you as my mate."

I gulped hard and nodded my head slowly. I guess he's taken his time to decide.
