Chapter 10:The Cage Tightens

543 Words
The sound of heels against the marble floor struck like a clock ticking down to judgment. Leah’s heart seized. She was still tied where Arielle had left her, wrists raw, thighs trembling from the hours of restraint. Daniel’s visit lingered in her body like smoke she couldn’t wash off. She prayed Arielle wouldn’t notice. She prayed the memory wouldn’t show in her eyes. But Arielle noticed everything. The bedroom door opened, and Arielle entered with her usual slow grace.....until her gaze fell on Leah. Something flickered sharp in her eyes. She walked closer, circling the bed like a predator that had caught the scent of intrusion. “You’re trembling.” Her voice was cool, suspicious. “Why?” Leah’s lips parted, panic rushing. “My Arielle, I....” “Don’t lie.” The words snapped like teeth. “Someone was here.” Leah froze, her breath caught in her throat. Arielle’s hand shot out, gripping her chin with bruising precision. “Who?” Tears blurred Leah’s vision. “Please, listen.....” Arielle’s laugh was low, humorless. “Listen? To what? Excuses? My little bunny, you forget.....I own every breath you take. And today, you let a stranger steal some of them.” “He wasn’t......he’s no one....” Leah tried, desperation clawing at her voice. “Silence!” Arielle hissed, pressing her thumb against Leah’s lips. “Do you think I’m blind? Do you think I don’t see the way your body trembles differently now? I can smell him on you. A man. Here. In my house.” Leah broke into sobs, struggling against the ropes, not to escape but to reach her. “I swear, I didn’t......he came in, I told him to leave, I only wanted you......and he's the one you sent to fix the electrical problem....." But Arielle’s expression was unreadable stone. “No explanations. No lies. You let another man’s eyes touch what belongs only to me.” She untied Leah from the bed only to drag her to her knees. Her voice was sharp silk. “You need to be reminded who you belong to.” The punishment was merciless. Rope, leather, denial.....Arielle gave nothing but control, stripping Leah of every shred of dignity until her tears soaked the floor. Every strike, every withheld caress was delivered with venomous tenderness. “Mine,” Arielle hissed with each movement. “Not his. Never his. Only mine.” By the end, Leah collapsed against Arielle’s legs, broken sobs wracking her body. She had never craved Arielle more.......never felt more destroyed by her. When Arielle finally gathered her into her arms, stroking her damp hair, Leah thought she might find solace. But Arielle’s words cut deeper than any whip. “I want to trust you, sweetpie,” she murmured. “But you tempt me to doubt. And doubt…” She kissed Leah’s temple, almost tenderly. “…is poison.” Leah clung to her, torn apart. Not from the pain. Not even from the jealousy. But from the hollow ache that Arielle still didn’t trust her.....after everything, after all her surrender. That night, as Arielle slept with possessive arms locked around her, Leah’s tears slipped silently into the pillow. For the first time, the chains didn’t just feel heavy. They felt lonely.
