Ember (POV)
We were sitting in my apartment in the pack house. My mates and uncle James were getting everything together to meet with their people. We were heading down to talk to them outside the meeting hall. There was not enough room for everyone inside.
I was feeling nervous. This was the first time I would stand in front of my mates' people and declare them as my mates. I wished Xavier was here. I wanted him by my side while I addressed our people. I needed to be strong. I will be with him soon. I just needed to be patient.
My parents told me that I would not be strong enough to beat Dominick and his army by myself. I would need an army of my own. They would do what they could to try and help protect us, but they were very clear that their magic was not strong enough in our world.
