Victor (POV)
We went back to the party, so Ember could say her thank yous and goodbyes. I stood off to the side watching. I watched as wolves, bears, lycons and vampires wished her a happy birthday. I paid particular attention to the vampires.
I hated to think that any of them could be working with Dominick and plotting to move against me. But I was not dumb enough to think that it couldn't happen.
Ember walked over to me and wrapped her arms around my neck.
"Hey, you okay?" she asked, looking up at me and into my eyes.
"Yeah, I'm okay."
"Want to feed?" she asked with a small smile.
"Do you?" I asked, surprised. I didn't think she would be ready to feed this soon.
She shrugged her shoulders, looking embarrassed. I smiled at how cute she looked.
