Chapter 6- Royal Flush

Olivia's P.o.v

..."Ms.Vega, you know if we're going to be working together maybe I should up my insurance.." He let out a small chuckle and I tried to hide my embarrassment. .."Maybe I should invest in a seeing eye dog. I'm sorry I was lost in my train of thought.."

He tried to suppress his laughter and motioned for me to follow him, as I try to keep up with his large stride I begin to study him some more. I notice that Mr.Blake is not only six inches taller than me but his charcoal suit only compliments his broad frame. I notice he has a small cluster of beauty marks just above the left side of his black shirt collar, and his lightly tanned skin only compliments his honey gaze. I'm not entirely listening to him as we enter the small conference room, I study his light stubble on his square jaw and his full lips. Suddenly I'm interrupted from studying him..."Well Ms. Vega, what do think of my proposal?...." Sh*t ... I have absolutely no clue what he said...

....." Ms.Vega what would you say if I were to sign the merger and make you senior adviser on the account?..That is if you promise not to say anything to your boss until after the presentation...I kinda want to see him sweat a little before I agree to anything..." I try to muffle my amusement as the thought of Leo Reigns sweating a little...."Me, why would you want me to be lead advisor? I'm sure they're are alot of other more qualified people you'd want to spearhead this .."

He looked at me for a moment , then placed a small smile on his face.."True there are others within the company that I could consider. But I had time to look over your work and your research and I'm extremely excited to see what you can come with in the next couple of months with this project. Plus I need someone to keep me and my reflexes in check..."

I tried to hide my smile a bit and thanked him. He stands for a moment unbuttoning his suit jack and reaches inside the inner pocket. .."Here this is my card I am really looking foward to working with you on this, and remember not a word to Reigns ..." He tilts his head and winks. I slowly walk out and make my way to my office.

"Why was he being so nice, and offering me that position before the meeting.....what the hell.." I take a seat at my desk and skim through some emails when my reminder starts going off...Sh*t the meeting, even if Mr.Blake said he was signing I still had go through with the meeting and give it 100 .Otherwise if I messed this up I would feel his wrath later.

His words echoed in my head.." I don't want to punish you, ..... Behavior yourself.." Why after this time was he suddenly being nice to me. It didn't make any sense. What changed. I gather my things and head to the large conference room. Maybe I should have made two trips, I'm starting to struggle and I'm strughle with the door. I walk in and every one is already seated, and there sitting from and center is my lion with a slight smile on his face as he and Mr.Blake are making small talk.

Flashes of what happened earlier in his office hit me and suddenly I feel like I'm standing there completely naked. I begin to make my way into the room when suddenly I trip on a cord and I go down hard. A wave of embarrassment hits me. It takes me a minute to sit up. Without even realizing it Mr.Blake is kneeling beside me ...."Oh my God Ms.Vega are you okay, try not to move...." I'm taken aback when he places his hand on my face, so taken aback that I was completely unaware of the blood dripping from my lips. He takes a black handkerchief from his pocket and places on my mouth, that's when the shock wears off and I'm immediately introduced to the overwhelming pain radiating across my face. Leo is instructing someone to get the first aid kit. As I try to stand Mr.Blake wraps one arm around my waist to help me steady myself and tells me to sit down slowly....

"Do you feel alright, Ms.Vega I'm gonna need you to move your hand so I can see how bad it is..." I shake my head in protest.I try to get the words out, try to insist that I'm fine but I can still feel the blood filling my mouth..."Olivia, please I wanna make sure you don't need to go to the hospital. Please trust me... You don't have to look unless you want to..." My eyes widen at the thought of all the blood. He sees my fear and takes my hand in his..."I guess I should have called my insurance company sooner. Please Olivia, Ms.Vega let me look I promise to be gentle..." The look in his eyes, filled with kindness and the warmth of his honey stare made me slowly lower my hand. He let's out a small sigh.

"Well Ms. Vega we get to go on a little trip, I'm gonna take you to the hospital. Are you ok to walk?...." I shake head slowly indicating that I can but once I rise up from the chair I quickly begin to stubble. A familiar hand is there to help me catch my balance. Leo's eyes meet mine, and I'm instantly filled with fear and embarrassment. He gives my arm a slight squeeze and I assure him I'm ok.He releases me before people start to notice.

.."Well Reigns I think it's best we reschedule the meeting until Ms.Vega is okay, wouldn't you agree?...." Leo nods and instructs his assistant to call for his driver and to collect my things and have them waiting for me in the car.

Mr.Blake again gently places arm around my waist and slowly helps me to the door .As I look back I can see the stern look on Leo's face and I'm afraid of what's to come.
