Queen of the Faes

chapter 2

He got married when he was eighteen because eighteen is the legal age of marriage. when i read the arrangement my eyes went wide open and my jaw dropped . it states that to avoid a b****y war we must unite our kingdom through marriage . to allow both blood red and black to live together as neighbors and not as enemies. As neighbors they should have the same privileges as us and in exchange theyll have to follow our laws. My father has  always been protective of me since im his only child . my mother almost died giving birth to me , they say it was because of my father thats why mothers still alive . theyre mates after all . im the only princess in the entire red kingdom. mothers brother , the king of humaria, has three sons while father's brother has two fae sons. which leaves me as the only option . And as heir to Notaria they can't risk me getting married to prince Maven who is known for killing someone painfully whenever he feels  like it . i was sitting in between mother and father time had passed so quickly, my thoughts were elsewhere.As far as i know, they have decided to attack them at dawn on the following day , father is going to join the battlefield .which means he will be leaving  by sundown today.Turns out most of the faes are already at the border,the massive wall separating our kingdoms.the ones that are going are fathers 3 most trusted generals .they have already thought it through , they have a plan .when everyone was already out leaving me with my father and mother.

i said "do you really have to go ? i have a bad feeling about this."

father said "i have to Ava the only way we can win this war is by leading it myself."still uncertain with a worried face i said "Demoria wouldnt just go to war unless they have something else planned please dont leave."

"we have to be strong ava . the world is a cruel place its cruelest to the weak ,always remember that.i love you so much.promise me that whatever happens no matter the circumstance , you will never turn your back on this kingdom that you will fight for it no matter what."

"of course father, i promise you.you have my word. i love you too."i say hugging him ., he hugs me back , kissing the top of my head.

"we are going to use fireballs to cause as much damage as possible.i cannot burn all of them at the same time that would leave me vulnerable and defenseless in the next attack ."

"then let me come with you , i want to help because i can help , i have been training father. i would gladly risk my life for our kingdom  and our people" father sighed

mother said "its too dangerous , you are our only heir and besides we need you here just in case they might come here ."

i said "you think theyll come here while father is at the battlefield , at the border ?"

mother said "its possible , we used to have a spy Ava her name was Clorence but we havent heard from her for 9 years  "

father said "we think she's dead.we dont know what happened to her . its really hard to put reds in Demoria ."

i asked "who's clorence ?"

father answered heading to the door "our best assassin and spy. anyways stop worrying , ill see you in dinner i have somethings i need to do before i leave."

i said "please dont die on the battlefield . come back to us " mother had tears in her eyes . father just smiled and said "i love you both so much " and left.
