TUESDAY MORNING, RICHARD was the first witness called. Charles led him through a series of questions concerning his investigation of the murder scene without interruption from the prosecutor. Charles then asked him to describe the next phase of his investigation, which was the search of Lucinda’s condo. Wetherbee attempted to stop this line of questioning but was eventually overruled by the judge. Under Charles’ prompting, Richard described the process of finding the set of fingerprints as well as the clothing that didn’t belong in the apartment. Charles managed to introduce both into evidence over Wetherbee’s objections.
