Marcus was waiting. He sat near the large windows overlooking the city, dressed in dark clothes with a glass of untouched whiskey testing beside him. unlike Adrian, Marcus looked exactly like danger. Sharp, scared hands, the posture of someone who trusted nothing. "You were longer than expected". He said calmly Raven dropped her bag onto the couch. "You knew I went to Draven" It wasn't a question. Marcus gave a slight nod, "I know everything you do". "That's unhealthy". "That's survival" Raven exhaled quietly before walking toward the bar, tonight had exhausted her more than she wanted to admit. Marcus watched her carefully "What happened?" For a moment she said nothing, then finally. "There was a recording". That immediately caught his attention, Raven poured herself a drink before continuing. "My father left a message before the explosion". Marcus slowly stood. "What message?" Raven looked toward the city lights outside "If you're hearing this... then it means they found her". Silence filled the penthouse, heavy silence. The kind that said too much, Raven noticed immediately her eyes narrowed slightly. "You knew". Marcus looked away briefly, and that alone confirmed it. Anger flashed across her face "How much are you hiding from me?" "Enough to keep you alive". "That's not an answer". Marcus stepped closer carefully "You went back too soon" "I needed answers" "And now Adrian has seen you". The sharpness in his voice made her jaw tightened "As Eva Laurent". Marcus gave her a look "Raven..." "Eva", she corrected coldly " My name is Eva now". Marcus studied her quietly, then his expression softened slightly "You can change your name all you want", he said carefully "but the past still remembers you". The words unsettled her more than she expected Raven looked away first. "I saw something else tonight". She admitted quietly. Marcus waited "The yacht footage" His body went still instantly, that reaction didn't escape her notice "Raven..." "There was someone arguing with my father before the explosion" Marcus cursed softly under his breath "You need to leave the city". Her eyes snapped toward him "No" "This is bigger than you think ". "I'm done running Marcus stared at her for a long moment before finally nodding once, almost like he expected that answer. "You've always been stubborn". "And you've always treated me like I'm fragile". "You almost died". "But I didn't". The room fell silent again Finally, Marcus grabbed his coat "I'll increase security around the building". "I can protect myself" "That's exactly what worries me". Raven rolled her eyes slightly. Marcus moved toward the door. Then quietly said "Be careful around Adrian". something about his tone bothered her "What does that mean?" Rare for him, then finally"Men like Adrian Draven don't destroy things halfway" before Raven could question him further,he left The penthouse became silent afterward. Too silent, Raven barely slept that night, every time she closed her eyes, she saw the yacht, the fire, her father's recording, Adrian's expression. And those words "They found her". By morning exhaustion hid perfectly beneath elegance, Eva Laurent returned not Raven Vale. By eight-thirty Raven walked through the glass doors of Laurent Dynamics wearing a black tailored suit and her usual composed expression. Everything looked normal. Controlled. Safe, exactly how she designed it, until her assistant suddenly rushed toward her looking pale. "Ms. Laurent..." Raven stopped "What is it?" The assistant swallowed nervously "There's a man here demanding to see you" Raven frowned slightly "Who?" Before she assistant could answer,a familiar deep voice echoed from behind her "We need to talk". Raven turned slowly and there stood Adrian Draven inside her company lobby. The entire lobby fell silent. Employees stopped walking, phones stopped ringing, Even conversations died instantly beneath the weight of Adrian Draven presence. He stood near the entrance dressed in a dark charcoal suit, one hand inside his pocket while security guards remained several steps behind him. But what unsettled Raven most wasn't the fact that he came to Laurent Dynamics personally . It was the fact that he looked angry, her assistant shifted nervously beside her "Should I call security, Ms. Laurent?" Raven's eyes never left Adrian "No". Several employees exchanged curious glances immediately, of course they would. Adrian Draven almost never appeared publicly without reason, the fact that the CEO of Draven Technology was standing inside Laurent Dynamics at nine in the morning meant something serious was happening. Raven straightened slightly before walking toward him with calm elegance "Mr Draven".;She greeted professionally "To what do I owe this unexpected visit?" Adrian stared at her for a long second, then suddenly Raven understood something terrifying,he hadn't slept either, there were faint shadows beneath his eyes, hidden carefully beneath composure, his expression remained unreadable but tension radiated from him almost violently. "Private conversation", he said coldly Raven raised an eyebrow slightly "You don't give orders here". Something flickered across his face at the response almost approval. Then his gaze shifted briefly toward the employees secretly watching nearby. "We shouldn't do this publicly". That immediately sharpened Raven's suspension because Adrian hated public weakness which meant whatever brought him here was serious "Fine" She said calmly, she turned toward her assistant "Cancel my first meeting". The assistant nodded quickly "And no interruptions" "Yes ma'am". Raven led Adrian toward the private executive elevator while whisper immediately exploded behind them, by the time doors closed, the tension between them felt suffocating. Neither spoke at first The elevator ascended silently toward the top executive floor, then Adrian finally said. "You disappeared". Raven leaned casually against the mirrored wall "You sound disappointed" "I told you not leave" "And I ignored" his jaw tightened slightly "You're being watched". The calm certainty in his voice immediately made her chest tighten but Raven refused to show it "So are you" Adrian's eyes darkened "You noticed". "Your company was hacked twice in one night, someone hijacked your executive system, that doesn't happen accidentally". The elevator doors open smoothly before he could answer Raven stepped out first into the private executive floor reserved only for senior management and herself. Minimalist. Luxurious. Quiet the complete opposite of Draven Technology cold intensity. She walked directly into her office, Adrian followed. the moment the doors closed behind them the atmosphere changed instantly, more personal, more dangerous, Raven moved behind her desk calmly"Now" she said coldly "Explain why the CEO of Draven Technology is standing inside my office uninvited".
