10. Derek and Lindsay are at Cherry Beach. They are hidden by the bushes, smoking a joint. Lindsay tells him over and over what she saw that night, she tells him about the man with the dog and his house and how he didn’t touch her and, in fact, helped her, and she hangs onto Derek for dear life. She tells him not to say anything, not to tell anyone where she is, because she needs some time to figure everything out. “Did I do it?” Lindsay asks. “Did I kill that man? Did I just imagine a person coming into the kitchen?” Derek shrugs. “I doubt it. Why would you kill someone? And you didn’t have any blood on you.
