Obsession of a star

FIRST MEETING

AUTHOR’S POV:

“What the hell are you doing here, Natasha?” Ray spoke in a vexed tone.

“I showed up to support you so that people can look how loving your girlfriend is,” Natasha replied, tying her arm with his. “I don’t need your support and for the record, YOU ARE NOT MY GIRLFRIEND,” Ray stated, making the last words loud enough for everyone to listen. The smirk vanished away from Natasha’s face. 

“Guys, keep it down, don’t humiliate each other, and Natasha, why are you here? Don’t you know Ray hates it when people try to spoil his event” Mr. Kite said making Natasha realize her mistake but she is a thick skin she will never realize that people sometimes don’t like others interfering in their matters? Natasha gave a bothered look to Mr. Kite.

“Mr. Kite, I think that you are passing over your limits. Don’t forget that I am a star and you are a mere manager. So keep that in your mind.” Natasha said in a harsh manner.

“How dare you, Natasha……” Ray responded, facing her and squeezing her hand tight enough to make it ache.

“How dare you insult Mr. Kite! He is not just a manager, he is like a brother to me, and insulting him means that you are disgracing me.”

“Ray, let me go, you are hurting me,” Natasha said in a distressed cry.

“Ray, let her go. The media are everywhere here.” Mr. Kite said, making Natasha free from Ray’s grasp.  

 “Get lost, Natasha,” Ray stated. Natasha gave a hateful gaze to both the men and made her way out of the mall.

Mr. Kite requested the organizers to wrap up the event as Ray was now not in a great mood to acknowledge his fans.

“Okay ladies and Ladies, with that are event comes to end so we wish our superstar best of luck for the future, and thanks for this wonderful event today.” The organizer announced concluding the event.

“Ray your coffee,” said Mr. Kite, giving Ray his coffee and bringing him out of his dreamland.

“What were you thinking?” said Mr. Kite, sitting in front of Ray.

“Nothing, I am just tried. What’s next on my schedule,” added Ray.

“Hmm…. let me see…..now you just have a meeting with director Cho at 8 in the evening.” Mr. Kite said, studying his daily planner.

“So let’s go home, for now, my arm is aching, I should take some rest before the meeting,” Ray said sipping his coffee

“Oh, that recalls me of your consultation with the doctor tomorrow at 10,” declared Mr. Kite.

“Okay,” Ray responded.

 Ray and Mr. Kite were on their way out of the café when Ray dumped into someone and splashing his half left coffee on that someone.

“Sorry, I was in a rush,” replied that lady in a gentle yet apologetic tone. 

“I am so sorry,” Ray replied, trying to clean the coffee off from the lady’s clothes when a pinkish white hand caught his hand, he raised his hand and looked to the owner of the hand. The beauty of the lady stunned him. His sea-green eyes looking deep into her dark brown eyes, his hand on her shirtfront, and her hand on his hand.

 JANE’S POV:

As usual, I was running late for the hospital and I had to drop my niece Jennifer at my brother’s café in the mall. She spends her weekend with me, and it was now my responsibility to drop her off. But we woke up late and now I am on the verge of losing my job.

“Come on, Jenny, run! We have to make it fast,” I said while both of us were running like crazy women in the mall. I opened the café’s door and hurried when I dumped into someone with rock-like stature while his coffee ruined my dress. “Sorry, I was in a hurry,” I said the man in front of me apologized while wiping the coffee off from my shirt front. His hands her touching my abdomen and I felt awkward so I held his hand to remove away that’s when he raised his hand and our eyes met.

He was 6’ feet with light brown hair and sea-green eyes which were looking deep into my eyes it felt like touching my soul. We were lost in each other eyes when my sister-in-law called me. “Jane….. Jane…. JANE!” almost screaming my name and taking me out of the dreamland.

I let go of him immediately and walked towards the kitchen in the back.

My brother runs this café with my sister-in-law. We lost our parents in a plane crash after that we two were all alone in this world. I was 10 and my brother was 16. We both worked hard and made ourselves what we are today. This café is what my parents started, and that’s why my brother still works hard to make it work.

  “Will you have some coffee, Jane?” Martha, my sister-in-law, asked me. We have a good relationship from the beginning. She is like a mother to me.

“No Martha, I can’t stay for coffee I am already too late, just pray that I don’t lose my job,” I said while leaving them and making my way out of the café. 

“Do you have any idea Dr. Blue for how long your patients have been waiting for you?” said my Team leader in a lower and concerned voice.

“I am sorry, sir. I lost track of time while taking care of personal issues.” I said, explaining my reason for being late. My team leader after lecturing me on being late allowed me to start the work for the day.

 “Hi sweetheart, what ‘sup? Asked Steve, my colleague and best friend”

“All good… what about you..” I asked him.

“Perfecto,” he said in a jolly tone.

“Jokes apart Jane, can you do me a favor?’’ Steve asked in a serious tone.

“Yeah… tell me,” I said.

“As you know, I have a lecture to deliver in the university..so can you attend my patients today,” he said

“Okay, but what about team leader?” I asked.

“Oh. Don’t worry about him. I have already asked him, he has allowed it.” He said.

Okay, then. I’ll take care of the rest  just go give your best.” I told him.

“Thanks, Jane… love you.” He said patting my shoulder.

“Anytime dude…” I said.

Then I got busy treating patients. And just like that, my day ends
