Ellen heard Varian and Grace come in and she rushed to the door with Christy on her tail. They startled them as they were chatting on their way in. Ellen was actually shocked to see Varian and his mom have a good time. She had never seen them be so cordial with each other; she had not seen them be at loggerheads either, so up until now she did not know what kind of relationship they really had.
