Salome’s POV The luxury hotel was too quiet. The silence didn't feel like peace. It felt like an empty room where something bad was about to happen. Usually, these high-end places have a constant pulse of soft music or the distant sound of rich people talking. Now, there was nothing but the sound of my own shoes hitting the polished floor. The lighting was dimmed just enough to make the shadows look like they were reaching for me. I kept my head down and walked fast. I tried to tell myself I was being paranoid. Margot was a Richardson, and they had already gotten exactly what they wanted. Barnabas had his freedom. Margot had her public victory. I was just the leftover mess they were sweeping away. There was no reason for them to take a risk now. I pulled my phone out to check the time.
