Salome’s POV “It is all right here,” Clementine said. She didn't just sit down. She slammed her laptop onto the wood of my dining table with a crack that made me flinch. “We have the facts, Liv. The marriage license, the security footage of Barnabas losing his mind at your office, even the medical records from the hospital when you lost the baby. Do you want me to start drafting the lawsuit for emotional distress too?” I looked at the glowing screen, but the words blurred together. My hands felt cold. “If we go through with this, there is no turning back. Barnabas and I will never be able to find a middle ground again.” Clementine stopped moving. She didn't close the laptop. She just froze, her fingers hovering over the keys. “Are you serious? You still think there is a middle ground?”
