Chapter Five

Pamela woke up early on the day if her interview, she put on her best dress. She appear neatly and smart. She have previously apply for 3days leave at her place of work so as to be prepare for the interview. She went to stay with her aunt who happen to be her late mother youngest sister at Connecticut so as to arrive early for the interview. She look herself in the mirror smiled, she take a breath in and also out. She take a look at herself once again and said to herself "Donald Pamela you can do it, you are the right candidate for this job". She dashed out of the room.

Won't you like to have some tea and bread before leaving?" Ruth who was taken some tea in the sitting room asked. "I will be fine" Pamela said without looking at her aunt. "Come give me and hug at least". She ran back to hug her aunt. "I wish you best of luck. Love you." Ruth shouted.

"Love you too" Pamela replied. Ruth was once married but now divorced. She have 2 kids who are in boarding school and she work from home. Her ex-husband take responsibility of the children. She wanted Pamela to stay with her after the death of her mother but Ruth promiscuous lifestyle after the divorce with her husband didn't encourage her to stay and the love she have towards her father couldn't let her move in with Ruth.

Ruth reflect back on the cordial relationship she had with her sister who happen to be Ruth mother before her death. They grew up in Connecticut with there parent before Maria fall in love with Donald. Maria and Donald meet doing an exhibition that brought him to Connecticut.

Donald is a farmer, he lived in Virginia but often travel to Connecticut most times then. He met with Maria and there live grew and lead to marriage. At first Maria parent object their union but the geninue love that exist between the two make Maria parent to give in to there union. Ruth was not happy concerning the union because she felt jealous that Doland will take Maria far away from her. She tried talking her sister out if it but she fail. Eventually Donald took Maria away from her.

After the death of Maria, Ruth try all her best to bring Pamela close to her but Pamela could not find herself leaving her father. Ruth was happy went Pamela put a call through that she's coming to visit.

Pamela arrived early for the interview and took a seat in the waiting room alongside other candidates. She was the third person to arrive, slightly disappointed that she wasn't the first. Nonetheless, she managed to arrive on time.

"The interview will start shortly, I want you all to prepare yourself" the secretary announced. The first candidate was called in which happens to be a young man in his early 30s, he dress neatly and smart. He put on white shirt with green suit, black shoe with his portfolio beside him. He walked elegantly into the interview room. Pamela look at him with full of admiration.

"Pamela focus, you're not here for that" she murmur below her breath.

You will be contacted Miss Pamela" Mr. Davis said. Pamela stood up and take her leave. She board a cab home. On arriving home Ruth was working on her system she just say hi to her and go straight to the home she was given to avoid her been distracted. She fall heavily on the bed with her bag in her hands and her shoe still on.

"Will I be given this job" Pamela ask herself and sigh. She recall back in during the interview how she was asked to work on a particular software and she was your unable to and some series of questions were also asked concerning I.T gadget and she was unable to answer. She put in for the post of I.T tools disbursement which is called Gadget officer her among job will be to distribute I T tools to the sales reps. Unfortunately, she does not have any idea of the tools and there functions. While lost in the thought of this Ruth lock on the door and she allow her in.

"How did your interview go?" Ruth asked as she sat quietly beside Pamela. Pamela sat up on the bed and faced Ruth. "It went okay," she answered, resting her head on the pillow. Ruth looked at her, patted her shoulder, stood up, and left. Pamela settled back onto the bed and dozed off.
