I was too emotional to even speak, so with the tears of relief bubbling in my eyes I buried my face in his chest and he hugged me close.
The scent of rain filled my nostrils when he hugged me…how was that possible?
"Close your eyes, Millie…" his tone made it sound like both a command and a plea at the same time.
"You don't want to see this…"
He said as he spun around and the last thing I saw before I complied with his request was him shifting into that big wolf again. My eyes were closed but my ears could still hear their screams and the cracking of bones until there was finally silence.
