Mildred POV
I woke up the next morning filled with excitement for the new day as I stretched my hands above my head and then they fell down to the side of the bed where Arnold was supposed to be but he wasn't there and a scene of dread washed over me.
"Arnold?" I called out and then his deep soothing voice penetrated my ears.
"Millie?" I followed his voice over to the window where he stood, shirtless and smiling at me.
"Good morning…" he greeted walking over to me and then he left a kiss on my head which let me release a sigh of relief.
"Is something wrong?" He asked as he sat on the bed facing me.
I chuckled.
"Nothing, it's just silly." I had actually thought that yesterday was just a dream and maybe I was in California all alone by myself.
Thinking about that was able to scare me
