Rena’s POV The door clicks shut behind me, and just like that, I’m dismissed. Not that I was given much of a voice in the first place. Armani’s parents—his overbearing, impossible-to-please parents—have made it abundantly clear that their discussion does not include me, even though I’m the one their son supposedly married. And despite the fact that our marriage isn’t real, I am bound to it. I’ve already accepted it as my reality. There’s no turning back now—not when my father’s treatment depends on this. If Armani changes his mind… if his parents manage to shake his resolve… I swallow hard, my fingers tightening into fists at my sides.
