Last Day on Earth

Day One

"You have to run now honey hide you have to survive no matter what! Now run Alexa! Run!!!"

"Help me! Somebody help please help me!" my throat hurts screaming hours and hours of shouting asking for help, running away from home my tears started to fall I can't believe what I had saw. It bite my mom I saw how that monster bury its teeth in the neck of my mother I cried as I remembered what had happened to her. My mother and I were the only ones together, while my father died in an accident just last year he was hit by a car and left in the middle of the road, and now even my mother is gone except for lightning my husky dog. I wiped away my tears and continue walking. We have not eaten yet lightning is also hungry.

I do not see even a single person passing by even a car. What happening is this the end of the world? Why is there a scary creature that looks like a decaying corpse? Acting as if out of sanity, glaring its eyes glaze over when it looks, it stinks, and it makes a sound like a hungry animals.

"Lightning are you hungry already? where can we get something to eat I am also hungry" I keep on looking everywhere I saw nothing but broken houses, cars, power poles, leaking water from pipes it used to be busy little town people are busy exercising, cleaning the yard, sweeping the road but now I do not see anyone.

“Looks like we are really the only ones left now lightning, I do not see anyone here, will do you?” I asked lightning if he could smell other people around but he just barked and turned around and smelled the road and barked again.

Lightning ran and barked there was a*****e not far away and he went inside. I chased after lightning, I was afraid there might be a monster inside the store .. I called him but I did not hear any barking.

“Lightning where are you? Get out of there I'm scared please get out!”

I was scared and crying because I could not hear my dog barking. I wiped my tears from my eyes, and looked for a weapon to fight that scary creature and went into the store.

I slowly entered the store I saw the broken glass and it’s messy inside, it was nice and the sun was still bright so I could see where I was going. I whispered to call my dog, what if that creature attacked him what if my dog was dead? I calmed down and mustered up the courage to look for my dog.

I was walking a bit when I heard things falling, I quickly hid on the shelf goods, catching my breath out of fear and worry for lightning. I gripped the rod tightly and slowly peeked when I saw my dog searching for something, food he was carrying food.

"Lightning!" I whispered to him "Come here! Hurry up!". I wanted to drag him out of the store out of fear, he ran towards me when he heard my call carrying a bag of bread. When I saw no one else inside the store I immediately ran to the displayed bags hanging on the left side of the store, and started putting food cans, water and even clothes inside the bag. While my dog was carrying the bag of bread in his mouth and I was also full of my bag, I went to the casher and slowly peeked out no one had a trace of anything. I saw things that could be turned into weapons, and I saw a g*n. The g*n I saw had a bullet and there were extra bullets so I took that as well. When I was satisfied, my dog and I were about to leave, who was also waiting for me when I heard someone running and it sounded like a monster similar to the one that killed my mother. My dog barked and rushed at the monster. "Don't lightning! Come back here!" I called my dog in a panic so I chased him I grabbed the g*n I was holding and looked for my dog, and I saw the monster similar to the one who killed my mother running towards my dog my dog was retreating but it was still barking. It was about to catch up with my dog when I shot it in the body but it just kept running, so I shot it in the head. It was only there that it fell. I was so scared of what I witnessed, my hands were shaking but I didn't want my dog to die so I dared and shot that monster. Lightning turned to me and approached when he saw me scared and kneeling. Lightning is my only family left I will die to protect him.

"Are you okay lightning?" "Did you know how scared I am? I thought I would lose you too, don't leave my side clear?"

“Woof! Woof!" Lightning barked as if answering what I was saying.

"Yes I believe you just listen okay?, but how are we now? Where are we going? I think we are the only ones left alive because I see nothing but the two of us and those monsters". I took the bag of bread that had just been bitten by lightning and opened it and gave it to him. We went out from the store I gave lightning water too. I searched inside the vehicles to check if it was working or not, I saw something I looked at if it works and thank God it worked I looked at the fuel it was full. Lightning rode on me earlier, I got out and looked at the back of the car to see what was there it was empty except for the tire replacement. After an hour of travel, I did not see even one person…I saw the broken vehicles others were upside down and cracked. Broken buildings, ruined and seemingly exploded. It was almost dark and we had to find a place to hide and sleep with lightning, it was dangerous to roam in this kind of place with no hiding place. "Lightning we need

to rest, are you scared?" it barked in response to my question. "Thank you for being here next to me I'm not afraid anymore I love you so much, don't leave me clear?" I saw the electric light in the distance, I came a little closer to peek at the cabin. No one was inside, so I got out of the car and lightning followed me ... I took the g*n hidden in my waistband and pulled the trigger and walked towards the cabin.

I carefully went inside, because with just one wrong step, we both would die. Thankful that lightning is obeying my command. "Hello, is there anyone here?" I whispered shouting that there was someone left besides me, but I was disappointed because no one answered. I went around inside the cabin. The cabin was quite big and made of pure wood. I go downstairs and look for food, luckily the refrigerator is still working. I saw fresh milk and meat are still okay. I run I found fresh milk and meat was still okay. I prepared them for cooking, then I gave food to lightning. I closed all the windows and doors they could enter and lay down on the sofa holding my g*n and feel asleep due to fatigue and apprehension.
