I shoved the attractive man aside and dashed into the bathroom.
"Cassandra!" Minnie's voice echoed around the place.
"I'm coming!" I quickly exited the bathroom to find Minnie.
"Hmm...you look like a walking zombie."
"I can't deal with this anymore."
The next day...
I woke up feeling incredibly dizzy and hungover. I have no idea what I did last night. I can't remember a thing. I still don't know how I made it back home. Thank goodness Grandma doesn't know how to use a phone. If she did and called Katherine, I'm sure Katherine would never let me hear the end of it.
Long story short, none of us in our group of four made it to school. We were all too wasted. On Saturday, the four of us met at the KK racetrack.
“Alright, girls, the tickets are in my hand! Let's go!”
We entered the field and it was packed with people, mostly women.
"I'm not a fan of crowds. This is overwhelming," I grumbled as we made our way through.
"These fans must be rooting for Chris," Jean remarked.
"I'm going to stand right in front of Chris so he notices me," Maddie declared.
Maddie and Jean pulled me and Minnie to the front of the field. The sun was scorching and the crowd was massive. I felt like I was going to pass out. Maybe I shouldn't have taken that free ticket after all.
Out of nowhere, a piercing scream echoed. Maddie and Jean were both involved.
"Ahhh! Chris. Chris, can you see this? It's terrifying!" Jean yelled, brandishing her large stick. The voices only called out for someone named Chris.
"Chris, come and be my husband!!!" Maddie chimed in.
“Minnie, I think these two are too obsessed with men,” I remarked to Minnie.
"Let it go. Let them find their happiness."
At that moment, the gibbon's cries reverberated across the racetrack.
“Who is it? Is it Chris?” I inquired Maddie.
“That sneaky guy, who is he?” Maddie gestured towards him.
I glanced in the direction Maddie pointed. The racers were clad in green and black uniforms. Wearing helmets and dressing very discreetly, who could possibly identify them?
“To be able to recognize them from this distance, I'm truly impressed.” Honestly, I wouldn't have been able to do the same.
The screams of the crowd were deafening.
The competition kicked off fiercely. However, there was one car that outshone the rest. He maneuvered all the cars flawlessly.
Ultimately, the one who crossed the finish line was the man that everyone admired. Screams were thundering all over the place.
"Ugh! I want him. What should I do? I want him." I looked at these two people to see what they were looking at and screaming at. Don't you think they already have a sore throat after all that screaming?
I glanced over at this guy named Chris. The crowd was going wild and the racers were getting ready to remove their helmets. Not really sure what all the excitement was about, I kept my eyes on Chris. Finally, he took off his helmet and I got a good look at his face.
Wow, he's really good-looking, with that cool hair flip. After taking off his helmet, he put on some dark sunglasses and held the helmet. The crowd erupted in cheers. I mean, we were right at the edge of the field, you know? Once the race was over, the racers would walk right past where we were standing.
Out of nowhere, the handsome Chris started walking towards me. He stopped right where the four of us were standing and then turned to look at us. He locked eyes with me, so I returned the gaze. I couldn't help but be in awe of his handsomeness. The closer I looked, the more attractive he became. No wonder Maddie and Jean are so obsessed with this guy.
But why does his face seem so familiar? It's like I've seen him somewhere before, but I just can't place it. Suddenly, this guy named Chris flashes a smile at me before walking away. Did I imagine that? Or was he actually flirting with me?
“He looked at me...!”
“No! He was looking at me!”
Maddie and Jean argued with each other without anyone giving in.
“I think he's looking at Cassandra.” Maddie and Jean turned sharply to me when they heard Minnie's words.
Jean rolled her eyes. “Oh please, last week it was all about Chandler. Now it's Chris? Give me a break!”
“Today, it's Chris. You’re really charming, my friend!”
“Why does he have to look at you? I have bigger breasts than you.”
“Damn… no! He didn't look at me,” I hurriedly denied. "I'm going to the bathroom first."
After saying that, I walked out.
Ugh, so many people here are just so dull. If I had known it would be this crowded, I wouldn't have bothered coming," I grumbled to myself while washing my hands in the bathroom.
After finishing up in there, I made my way out.
Oops! I accidentally bumped into someone. Wait, who was that standing in my way? I slowly lifted my head to see who I had collided with.
Oh, it's that good-looking guy, Chris, the racer. What's he doing here? And why is he standing in front of the women's restroom? Is he a pervert?
"Take her away!"
Out of nowhere, two burly men rushed towards me and practically dragged me away.
"Hey! Where do you think you're taking me? I'm not going anywhere! Let go of me! Let me go!" I screamed, a mix of shock and fear coursing through me.
Or maybe this handsome guy is just mad at me for staring at him? Wait, no, he looked at me first. Either way, there's no need to use force on a petite woman like me...
