Chapter 2: The Stalking

839 Words
I found my classroom in no sweat. I took a glimpse through the glass side of the door. The teacher is already discussing it. I stood there and waited for the right time where I could go inside without her knowing. She approached one of the students and I used that opportunity to sneak inside the room. "Late on your first day?Oh lend me some guts" the teacher said, that made me stop. . I felt everyone's eyes on me, and this is what I hate the most. And how about you ma'am? Discussion on your first day? Oh lend me some deligence'. I ignored their stares and headed to the empty seat at the back. The teacher goes back to her discussion which I'm not interested in. "Okay, class dismiss"she finally said. "You're lucky the guard let you in. I heard that one is hard to please." the boy beside me murmured . His 'please' means a different thing. I remember his face but I don't know his name. Well, it's not my thing to remember names. I address people the way I want. His question reminded me of the girl at the school gate. " Someone helped me" I answered shortly. " Good for you" I collected my things and put them back inside my bag. "Oh why are you late? Good to have you in." My head instinctively turned its way in the direction of the speaker upon hearing those words. And there I saw the person I was thinking about throughout the discussion. Wait, are we classmates? She just nodded to the girl and sat on the empty seat next her. So she spent almost one hour talking to the guard. No doubt they really are friends. Minutes later, another teacher entered the room. My head is fixed in front but my attention is still on her, watching her every move. And take note this is not easy, my eyes are starting to hurt. And all my next classes continue like that. Head infront, eyes on the side. It's unbelievable how I stare at her for the whole class and don't get bored. As for her, she's attentively listening to the teacher in front, with her hands placed on her lap, not doing anything. Just sitting and listening. I'm starting to wonder, doesn't she ever feel my stare? Finally, the class ended. And as planned, I followed her, maintaining a considerable distance not to get caught. She sat on one of the benches and looked in front as if she was still in the class. She did nothing but sit there. I looked at where she was staring at and realized she was actually watching someone. She's watching Demi-a varsity player from our school-while he is playing basketball himself. And for some reason I don't know, I felt annoyed. So she likes him? Okay, this is crazy. I'm going back. What am I even doing here in the first place? She just helped me, and anybody can do that. I turned on my back and took a step when my foot betrayed me. I unknowingly stepped onto something greasy and ended up on the ground with a loud thud. Holy crap! My butt hurts. I help myself and sat. So this is what they call karma? I know stalking is bad, but i don't think it is just to receive mine this early. Someone lent a helping hand in front of me. I looked up to see the face but to no avail. The sun is blinding me. So I just took the hand and was surprised upon seeing the face of the owner. The same girl who helped me at the school gate. Is she an angel or what? I took that opportunity and talked to her. "Oh you're the girl at the gate, right? " I said with a bit of surprise in my tone. Pretending I didn’t stalked her. She nodded .. What the? That's it?? Come on, I tripped because of stalking you. Don't you think I deserve something better than a nod? Ah, I'll introduce myself. "I'm-" how am I going to say this girlish name? Now I hate my parents. "I'm Alleyn Trinidad" she just stood there, no reaction, eyes were fixed on mine as if reading through my soul. Seriously, her attitude brings me creeps. "Alleyn, trinity, same female name..."she commented. If it was another time, she's probably lying now on the ground with a bleeding nose or a black eye. I take no gender in revenge; but then again, for some reason I can't explain, I ignored her insult. My hands unbelievably didn't move, as if some witch cast a spell and numbed it along with my mind. Or maybe, it's her mockery that lacks emotion, that it does not provoke me. She said all those words nonchalantly, as if she was just reading a sentence. "I'm Singrid Medina"she added. And just like that, she turned her back on me. Weird She's weird That's all I know..
